The 2023 Corvette Z06 can really boogie, and it’s got the looks to match, upping the ante with a widebody exterior and aggressive aero bits front to back. Now, we’re taking a look at this particular 2023 Corvette Z06 finished in Caffeine Metallic, courtesy of the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
For those that don’t know, Caffeine Metallic is one of 12 exterior color options on offer for the 2023 Corvette Z06, and the only brown hue available. As such, the finish gives the sports car an interesting look, almost like it’s a custom aftermarket paint job or wrap. To note, Caffeine Metallic is tagged with paint code G48.
In the corners, we spot a set of Spider design, Satin Graphite forged aluminum wheels. These rollers are sized at 20 inches in front and 21 inches in the rear, and are tagged with RPO code SOC. The design enhances the 2023 Corvette Z06’s motorsports-ready aesthetic, filling the wheel arches nicely and showing off the rather sizable brake package underneath.
Speaking of motorsports, this 2023 Corvette Z06 is also equipped with the optional Z07 Performance Package, adding even more track-ready goodness, as well as extra visual punch. Notable features of the Z07 Performance Package include larger carbon ceramic brakes, with 15.7-inch rotors in front and 15.4-inch rotors in the rear, plus stickier Michelin Sport Cup 2 R ZP tires. The package opens up the option for carbon fiber wheels too, but this particular example is sticking with forged aluminum.
Critically, the Z07 Performance package also adds in a full carbon fiber aero upgrade, with a larger front splitter, front-corner dive planes, a rear wing, and an underbody strake blessing the 2023 Corvette Z06 with even more stick at speed.
As for the bits under the body panels, the new Z06 is motivated by the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, while riding on the GM Y2 platform. Production takes place exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

I like this color I wish more Chevy models offered it.
I have a Zeus bronze 2020 and everywhere I go nothing but praise on the color. There is not a day when I drive it I am questioned..what color is that… the nicest color yet. Most can’t appreciate the color until it is in the bright sun. Too bad the color identification when ordered did not display it better. If the color comes back and is available on the ZO 6, I am in!!
A dark brown Corvette is like a green Ferrari, where is my barf bag?
Yeah, to each their own I guess. I could never really understand why some people like those dark browns, burgundys, and greens, on beautiful sports cars.
I actually have a ‘96 restomod Vette that is Polo Green that works very well. I would like to see same or similar used for the new Corvette. It was one of the more popular non-prime colours.
When are the new Z06 allocations coming out??
I am a hard no on the color.
I like it
Yeah, the Caffeine color will follow the same exit door as Zeus
Bland looking. Boring!
I like the wheels .
All the negative comments on this color are most likely from people that have not seen it in person. It really has to be seen on a bright sunny day to be appreciated as it has a ton of orange and gold metal flake in the paint
I have a 74 in brown metallic in the shade it looks arr, crapy but on a sunny day it comes up this bronzey type colour. 😎
Apart from that I like the colour just to piss people off😆😅🤣😂
So you would pick an ugly colour just to piss people off? Sure, totally reasonable thing to do.
That’s a horrible color !!!
Yea, does looks good in the bright sun. Metallic definitely pops!
Just not on the Vette
A Caffeine Metallic Z06 will be a rare bird. Only 385 Corvettes were made in this color for 2022. Add this color to the heavily constrained Z06 and you have a future premium valued example due to the low volume color choice. Add in the interior options, wheels, packages, etc. and you could easily end up with a 1 of 1 Z06. For example, Caffeine Metallic, blue interior, black wheels with red lip. Z07 package, etc.
Prospectors with money to spend on a future gamble may end up laughing all the way to the bank at the 2043 Barrett-Jackson auction with their all original, low mileage 2023 Corvette Z06 in Caffeine Metallic
Rare ugly colors do not look any better years later and if not many liked it when it was a new color, the interest stays the same later on “no interest”
I buy and drive Corvette for the joy of ownership and DRIVING, not possible future profit. That is a disappointing reason to choose a crap colour on a new Corvette.
I love this color on the Corvette!
Interestingly, when ever Chevy spots a color paint for the Corvette line, I first check what the “Big Dogs” color palette looks like, in other words would a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, or even Porsche use this particular color or one very similar.
I know the the C8 is an all American Sports car, and as such can probably get away with the addition of some colors that the others might not run with, and while that’s okay with most Corvette enthusiast or owners (of which I’m a long time Corvette owner) I tend to look back to the mid 1960’s for some amazing colors that really made those year Corvette’s really stand out in a crowd, even among other earlier or later model Corvette’s. You can pick and choose your favorites and I’m aware that over the years some Corvette colors were…lets say, uh “boring, and a one year only color” and for good reason, they just didn’t do the Corvette line any justice. I’m sure you could think of more than a few amazing colors if you’re into Corvette’s, and so what’s my point? The color of paint on any car (especially sports cars and specifically the Corvette) is the first thing that grabs you, then the styling takes over followed by the interior trim and wheels, or visa, versa.
With so many vibrant colors to choose from, I really can’t see a brown or similar color on the Corvette being a successful color, this to me will be a one year color only and I’d be surprised if it goes two years…maybe in person as one person suggested it’ll look just fine, but I doubt it, and worse than that, you’ll pay extra for an unpopular color!
Okay, ’nuff said…my own personal Corvette is of a silver variant, and it seems to be a popular color variant over the years, with some form of a silver or gray-ish color for many years and it seems to show off the car design body lines along with some other colors that have withstood the test of time. You can pick your favorite colors from a pretty decent selection for the C8, but personally I’d refrain from ordering this particular color, unless it really moves you, you might get tired of it and probably not receive as many complements as another more vibrant and popular color might receive, just say’n.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so they say…that said, I’d have to take a “pass” on this color, wouldn’t be my choice.
With all due respect, you sure took a lot of time out of your day to write up why you don’t like a color. In fact, I think that these bronze-brown tones look very nice, appealing to a niche market.
A wise man once said: If you ain’t got nothing good to say, why say anything at all?
Enjoy your cookie-cutter silver grey Vette. Almost every car you see on the roads now is some sort of greyscale color.
In 40 or 50 years, having one of these with under 10 miles will probably be a payday for someone…rare color, limited ‘23 production, etc. On the other hand, it might age like a two-tone bronze C4…
Regardless, for those seeking to drive and enjoy now, I think most of us agree that few will choose this color…
Uglier than the proverbial mud fence.
I love all the internet hate for caffine metallic. MY 23 C8 caffine metallic gets nothing but praise every where I go. The high metallic blend changes colors depending on sunlight. Anyone that calls the car brown proves they never seen one in person.
A color for the over 75 crowd.
Companies who wrap cars for a living start licking their chops when colours like these come out.
Tragically ugly with a ridiculous track use rear wing. They should create a way to remove for normal street use with the very attractive base wing. Base wheels are also incredibly unattractive. Ride height is also way too high, along with new wheels, one of the first things I would address. Whoever is in charge of picking these things for Corvette needs to be replaced.
