2023 Chevy Trailblazer Blue Glow Metallic Paint Built Out For Model Year

The 2023 Chevy Trailblazer stands as the third model year of the subcompact crossover, receiving just a few minor updates over the preceding model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2023 Trailblazer is no longer available to order in the Blue Glow Metallic paint color.

Originally introduced on the Trailblazer for the 2022 model year, Blue Glow Metallic (color code GGK) has been built out for the remainder of the model year. As of the time of this writing, it’s unclear if this paint color will return for the 2024 model year, meaning that GM is no longer building the small crossover in that color. Previously, this hue was available on LS, LT and Activ trim levels at no extra charge; it was not offered at all on the RS trim.

As a reminder, GM changed the way in which dealers order the 2023 Trailblazer during the 2022 calendar year. Previously, dealers would order the small utility vehicle using the traditional “consensus” model, where dealers request which trim levels and various other options they wanted from the factory. This is done at regular intervals and empower dealers to offer customers a choice of colors, trim levels, and other features.

In comparison, The General is now utilizing its “port consensus” model for the Trailblazer, where it builds the vehicles that it can, taking into account market demand. Having built the vehicles, GM then ships them to port. It is only at this point where dealers are able to select which vehicles they would like for floorplan.

As for powertrain, the 2023 Chevy Trailblazer is offered with two engine choices, namely the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, which produces 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T gasoline engine, which develops 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. The 1.2L LIH connects to GM’s continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), while the 1.3L L3T connects to either the CVT the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.

Under the skin, the 2023 Trailblazer rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set, while production began on April 24th at the GM Bupyeong plant, which supplies the Trailblazer to all markets except for China. While the GM China Dong Yue plant in Yantai, China previously built the Trailblazer for the Chinese domestic market, the vehicle has been discontinued there.

  1. “Previously, this hue was available on LS, LT and Activ trim levels at no extra charge; it was not offered at all on the RS trim.” I think this may be a mistake. It wasn’t offered on the Activ trim but was offered on the RS Trim. The picture you are showing in the Article is a Trailblazer RS with the Blue Glow paint scheme.

    1. Ok, I made a mistake. Don’t have to be rude. I wasn’t being rude that’s why I put in “I think.” How about some civility?
