The 2023 Chevy Suburban adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Silver Sage Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat. Here’s our first look at the new Red hue.
Assigned RPO code GNT and touch-up paint code WA-170H, Radiant Red Tintcoat is one of 10 exterior colors offered on the extended-length full-size SUV, which include:
- Black
- Summit White
- Auburn Metallic
- Dark Ash Metallic
- Empire Beige Metallic
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
- Midnight Blue Metallic
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
- Silver Sage Metallic (new for 2023)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (new for 2023)
The Radiant Red Tintcoat color is an extra-cost item that adds an additional $495 to the vehicle’s price and is available on all trim levels. It can be combined with all Suburban interior colorways.
For reference, here are all five available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Suburban:
- Gideon/Very Dark Atmosphere (LS/LT/Z71 only)
- Jet Black (not available on RST)
- Jet Black/Victory Red (RST only)
- Jet Black/Maple Sugar (Premier only)
- Jet Black/Mocha (High Country only)
The 2023 Chevy Suburban introduces only a handful of updates over the preceding 2022 model, dropping in as the third model year for the latest fifth-generation extended-length full-size SUV nameplate. Changes include the addition of Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist and a new Advanced Technology Package that includes GM’s hands-free semi-autonomous Super Cruise technology.
More recently, the 2023 Suburban also received expanded Super Cruise driving coverage, with select Chevy Tahoe and Suburban units among the first to get this updated feature. Accessibility has been now been doubled to cover more than 400,000 miles of roads in the United States and Canada, up from the previous 200,000-plus miles.
As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Suburban is offered with three engine options total, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet; the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque; and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All three engines connect to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. Under the skin, the 2023 Suburban rides on the GM T1 platform, featuring an independent multilink rear suspension.
Refreshed 2024 Chevy Suburban and 2024 Chevy Tahoe, the Suburban’s shorter relative, are set to arrive next year. In March, we caught a prototype of the refreshed 2024 Tahoe undergoing testing. The upcoming models will feature revised front and rear fascias, with new two-tiered lighting setup for the front end. Inside, the updated SUVs will boast a revised cockpit and layout with larger infotainment screens and other improvements.
Production of the 2023 Chevy Suburban kicked off at the GM Arlington plant in Texas on July 18th, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Suburban. Meanwhile, production of the refreshed 2024 Chevy Suburban is currently scheduled to begin in November 2023.

Too dark, the old red tint coat was better.
If you go to the dealer and put two trucks side by side the color is so close to the cherry red tint coat it’s hard to tell them apart. I have a 2022 High Country with a 2023 High Country on order
Why isn’t all exterior and interior colors offered on ALL trim levels on all makes and models
Makes no sense and is very frustrating.
