GM officially unveiled the all-new 2023 Chevy Colorado last July, debuting a fresh third generation complete with updates to the model line, a new exterior, a totally overhauled interior, and a new powertrain as well. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT in Harvest Bronze Metallic paint courtesy of the following GM Authority photo gallery.
This is the first time we’ve seen the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT in Harvest Bronze Metallic paint out in the real world, giving us a better idea what the configuration looks like under the natural light of an overcast winter day in Michigan. For those readers who may be unaware, the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT (or Work Truck) is the base model of the lineup, with the rest of the trim level cadence including LT, Z71, ZR2, and the new-for-2023 Trail Boss (the Trail Boss was previously offered as a package upgrade for LT and Z71 trim levels).
As the entry-level trim, the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT keeps things pretty basic, with standard spec throwing on 17-inch Painted Ultra Silver wheels wrapped in All-Season tires. The front fascia presents an MIC Black finish, while MIC Black can also be found on the door handles and sideview mirrors. Halogen lighting with an automatic on / off feature is also standard equipment.
Notably, all 2023 Chevy Colorado trim levels receive updated styling front and rear, and this particular WT model is no different. That said, this model is also presented in Harvest Bronze Metallic Paint. Tagged with paint code GXN, Harvest Bronze Metallic Paint is one of eight exterior paint options available.
As for the greasy bits under the hood, the 2023 Chevy Colorado is equipped with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine across the line. That said, this engine is available in three states of tune, depending on the trim level selected. As expected, the WT trim runs the “base” 2.7L Turbo tune, which gets its own RPO code (L2R) and is rated at 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. The WT is also offered with the mid-range 2.7L Turbo Plus tune (310 horsepower, 390 pound-feet of torque), while the range-topping 2.7L Turbo High-Output tune (310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque) is not available for WT models.
Under the skin, the 2023 Chevy Colorado rides on the updated GM 31XX-2 platform, while production will kick off at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri later this month.

Is it supposed to be a secret that these pictures are taken along Hollingsworth?
W/T rims look horrible, you would think they could do a little better.
Steel wheels. Other options available
They can still do better. Look at the previous gen Colorado W/T for one of 1000s of ways to better implement painted steel wheels. These (along with Silverado) are purely designed to punish the consumer out of the W/T trim…
The 2023 Colorado configurator is online. There are literally no other factory or accessory wheel options offered on the WT trims.
Looks as if customers would have to go online (Ebay prehaps) for the Polished Aluminum Wheels found on the current generation Colorado WT and LT Trim models, those wheels could fit well with the 2023 Model’s overall exterior look and could probably get them for a reasonable price for a set of 4.
It looks pretty good.
I like the lower trim trucks.
I do belive production has started so i know there is some production ready models available for some real driving reviews. Bring me some real reviews, acceleration, mpg drivability etc so much content of outside and inside pics
We do know that the 2.7 Liter holds up pretty well, so that’s a good start to at least a positive review.
They could just have left the turbo as an option on the base trim. At 160 horses and 200 lb ft torque naturally aspirated engine no cylinder deactivation would have been interesting to see how it would perform on the endurance test as it would be less complicated. Less engine heat and blow by through the rings. I could see it outlasting the turbo engines.
There is a whole lot of bending twisting and chiselinng on this ftruck. Yet the front and hood seems smooth Like it’s getting ready for a body building competition. I little absurd. Looks more similar to pre 2019 Silverado models than the current I wonder why it’s a chore to get on these trucks so high of the ground. Hope it grows on me.
Why not a somewhat lower stance street version? I have a 2014 Silverado rcsb. Other day got a complement about how simple and functional the truck is. Have gotten many over the years to my surprise. I know I’m in the minority of these types of trucks but people notice them, too.
not my favorite but how about some MPG RATINGS ??
Chevy claims “roughly” 19 city, 25 highway. Not sure if that is based on the 237hp version of the 2.7L standard in the WT and LT trims, or the 310hp version of the 2.7 that is optional in the WT/LT and standard in the TrailBoss, Z71, and ZR2.
I love the new Colorado and I’m seriously considering buying my first new truck. I’ve been a Dodge/Ram guy my entire life but I can’t afford the one I want and they won’t build a midsize truck. (Gladiator is NOT a truck) I just wish the Trailboss was available with the LED headlight option.
I to wanted a new ram midsize truck but they aren’t listening, so i have had 2 Colorados since 2019( leases). Nice trucks , perfect size. I am starting to like the 2023 version.. HELLO RAM!!!
