2023 Chevy Blazer RS Now Available With 20-Inch Gloss Black Aluminum Wheels

The 2023 Chevy Blazer introduced a mid-cycle refresh for the midsize crossover, boasting mild styling changes, a revised interior and an updated infotainment system. As usual, a wide selection of alloy wheels is available on the Blazer, and availability of one model in particular has recently been expanded.

GM has now made the 20-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels (RPO code QH4) available as a factory-installed option on the RS trim of the 2023 Chevy Blazer for the first time. Up until this change in availability, Blazer RS buyers had to make do with the standard 20-inch Technical Gray aluminum wheels (RPO code Q75) or upgrade to the 21-inch High Gloss Black wheels with machined face (RPO code RUG), priced at $1,000.

The 20-inch Gloss Black wheels were first introduced on the Chevy Blazer for the 2022 model year. They were available on the 2LT, 3LT, and Premier trim levels as a factory-installed option, but not the RS until now.

GM prices the QH4 wheels at $1,100 for 2LT and 3LT trims of the midsize crossover, and at $800 for the RS and Premier trims.

The launch of the 2023 Chevy Blazer included a thorough refresh for the crossover. The exterior gained revised front and rear fascias, reworked LED headlight and taillight designs, new 18-inch, 20-inch and 21-inch wheels, and five new paint colors.

Interior updates for the 2023 Chevy Blazer included an all-new 10-inch diagonal infotainment screen for all trim levels, a new wireless charging pad (standard on the RS and Premier, optional on other trims), and a Nightshift Blue interior colorway for the RS.

GM also rolled out a series of changes, updates, and new options for the 2023 Chevy Blazer. Two new packages for the Blazer, the Convenience Package (RPO code ZL3) and the Driver Confidence Package (RPO code WPA), split up the driver assistance and other features previously comprising the single Convenience and Driver Confidence Package (RPO code ZL5) available for the 2022 Chevy Blazer.

In addition, the 2023 Blazer received the LPO-level (dealer-installed) Black Sport Package (RPO code RFP) for the 2LT, 3LT and Premier trims, along with the two new LPO-level Arctic Packages for the 3LT trim in Summit White only.

While GM added these optional styling packages, supply chain disruptions made the Rear Park Assist system unavailable to order on the Blazer, with no possibility of future retrofits.

As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Blazer is equipped as standard with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, providing 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, is standard on the RS and optional for the 3LT and Premier trims, but not offered on the 2LT. The sporty crossover rides on the GM C1 platform.

It’s worth noting that Consumer Reports recently gave a “recommended” rating to the 2023 Chevy Blazer, ranking it sixth among 12 midsized crossovers.

  1. I just don’t get the black wheel trend. Makes a nice car look like trash.

    1. Good thing you don’t get to make decisions on what other people buy because no one cares about your opinion.

      1. I agree with him black wheels look dirty and cheap.

    2. Black wheels were the style in the 70s in Europe, and went out of style there about 3yrs. ago. Now, in the U.S., the ‘murdered out look’ is the ‘in thing’, and who knows how long it will take before that will grow old. Oh well, to each their own…

    3. As opposed to silver wheels that let everyone know you bought the base model

      1. Yeah because the black spare tire look is so upscale. Rolls eye

  2. This should have been an option from the beginning. That build looks incredible. I have these wheels on my 2023 2LT and love them. It was baffling to me that the RS didn’t have an all black wheel option from the beginning. It makes no sense to have chrome or machined wheels when there is nothing else that color on the vehicle.

My biggest gripe is that GM puts those ugly sliver plastic accent pieces on the bumper of the 2LT and 3LT. It seems like they only do it because nobody likes it and it pushes them to a higher trim.

  3. These look just like the S2D wheels I ordered with my 2020 RS build, only I paid $1,500 more, not $800. I didn’t want the black 21″ wheels for $1,000. 20″s got me Michelin tires, and I figured it would be a little easier/cheaper come tire-replacement time.

    1. Yeah, these have been used for quite a while. They look great, I am glad they haven’t changed them just to have something different. My only complaint is they are a little hard to clean. Get an Autofiber Barrel Blade and it will make your life much easier.

  4. The black wheels sell well.

I think many like them as they never clean wheels and they end up cooling brown if they are polished from brake dust baked on.

    1. Black wheels look great on a vehicle with no chrome. I have never liked the look of chrome or alloy wheels on a car with nothing else that color. I don’t dislike silver wheels, I just dislike wheels that don’t match what they are on. I have never understood why some people hate black wheels so much. It is just an option for people with different tastes.

      1. They look fine but so few people care for wheels. Chrome peels, polish bakes brown with no care.

Black looks the same from 20 feet.

I actually have an 80’s car and run gold lace BBS wheels on my no chrome black car.

Wheels are just a matter of taste one size, one color, the style does not fit all so that is why they offer so many.

  5. The black 21” wheels, last year, looked much better on the RS. The RS black and polished aluminum wheels this year are the worst GM wheels ever.

  6. These are the same 20″ wheels they put on Trail Bosses, RST’s & some Customs. Pretty lazy of GM if you ask me.

    1. That’s kind of a strange take. I don’t think it is lazy at all and I would love to see more of it. If they already have a wheel available and it fits a vehicle I think it should be an option. I am not a fan of redesigning something just for the sake of it being new. I think the saying “no need to redesign the wheel” fits very well in this instance.

  7. How is it a strange take? I think it’s strange they put a truck wheel on a Blazer. It’s a truck wheel & it belongs on a truck. You don’t see any of the other Blazer wheel options on a Silverado.

    1. I just don’t see how giving customers more options could ever be bad in any way. This is a wheel that fits and looks great on a truck and a Blazer, if it works why not offer it? I think they should offer the Blazer wheels for trucks. More options are always better as long as they are left as options for the customer to choose. I probably wouldn’t agree with just copy and pasting a fake beadlock wheel from a truck to the Blazer and making it the base wheel, but if they won’t to offer it as an option who is it hurting. Sure, I and most others would think it looks terrible, but there may be a guy out there who just walked out of his trailer with his mullet blowing in the wind who absolutely loves it.

      1. I never said having more options is bad, & I agree with you there should be more. I also never said it looked bad either. I have this same wheel on my Trail Boss, so it’s weird for me seeing it on a Blazer. I just think they could have tweaked the design a little to make it a little different instead of copy & paste. That’s all I’m saying.

  9. 2023 also has the $1500 Onstar built into the price.
For a $50K vehicle, they could have come up with better looking wheel option.
Then again why $50k, when it’s built in Mexico by workers paid $3.50 an hour other than pure GM gluttony.
