The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is one very special vehicle, offering impressive track-ready performance paired with the traditional Cadillac coddling. Now, 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing customers will have the option for even more attention-grabbing goodness courtesy of the new limited-edition Maverick Noir Frost Matte Black paint option, available this Spring.
A new teaser image showing the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing dressed in Maverick Frost Matte Black paint was recently posted to social media, giving us a better idea what the super sedan looks like in the fresh stealth hue. The matte finish gives the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing a custom look that enhances its curb presence without shouting about it, complementing the aggressive lines while maintaining the four-door’s luxury appeal.

GM Authority first reported on the forthcoming Maverick Frost Matte Black paint option for the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing back in May of the 2022 calendar year. Although exact pricing information is currently unavailable, we expect it to carry a similarly high price tag as the limited-edition Dark Emerald Frost paint option offered for the CT5-V Blackwing prior, which was available for an extra $3,925. It’s likely that the new limited-edition paint will also require special care similar to Dark Emerald Frost.
The Maverick Frost Matte Black paint is tagged with paint code GNW, and will only be available to order for the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The limited-edition hue will not be available for the rest of the models in the CT5 lineup. As for the color options inside the cabin, Maverick Frost Matte Black paint will be available in conjunction with Jet Black with Jet Black Accents, Natural Tan with Jet Black Accents, and Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black Accents.
As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing features the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, and rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

I know two Blackwing owners who paid for a full XPEL STEALTH wrap and are punching the air right now. Great color nonetheless.
Bet they want to punch the dealership owner that charges way over list price for it. But hey, a fool and his money is soon parted, correct?
Matte paints are a PITA to maintain! 5-V BW looks awesome in that picture, but wouldn’t want to deal with that paint.
Very attractive car! But a matte finish is NOT something I would want. It’s way more difficult to keep up (like Dan and other point out), plus I like shiny! haha.
I need it in my life. I personally prefer this over the 120th anniversary edition as it feels more special than a few extra badges that cost $10K. Matte paint can be difficult if not maintained correctly, but I have owned two matte finished vehicles and have had no issues. I only trust one detailer or myself to my cars anyways. Hopefully I will have one of these in the garage in the near future.
