2023 Cadillac CT5 Gets New Argent Silver Metallic Color: First Look

The 2023 Cadillac CT5 adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Radiant Red Tintcoat, Midnight Steel Metallic, and Argent Silver Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Silver hue.

Assigned RPO code GXD and touch-up paint code WA-130H, Argent Silver Metallic is one of eight exterior colors offered on the luxury sedan, which include:

  • Black Raven
  • Blaze Orange Metallic
  • Crystal White Tricoat
  • Summit White
  • Wave Metallic
  • Argent Silver Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Midnight Steel Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)

The Argent Silver Metallic color is an extra-cost item that adds $625 to the sedan’s price. It is available on all three “regular” CT5 trim levels – Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport – and can be combined with all interior colorways.

For reference, here are all four available interior colorways offered on the 2023 CT5:

  • Cinnamon with Jet Black accents
  • Jet Black with Jet Black accents
  • Sangria with Jet Black accents
  • Whisper Beige with Jet Black accents

The 2023 Cadillac CT5 arrives with just a handful of changes and updates over the 2022 model, including adding the Driver Assist Package as standard and the addition of the GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system to the options list. The 2023 CT5 also gets a Bronze Accent Package, which is available on the CT5-V as well, but loses the Diamond Sky Special Edition Package.

The Cadillac CT5 rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform and is offered with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, on all three trim levels. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 LGY, rated at 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque, is available as an option on the Premium Luxury. Each engine is mated to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. All these trims are available in both rear-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive configurations.

Production of the 2023 Cadillac CT5 began at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan on July 18th, 2022.

  1. Argent Silver? Don’t try to make it sound like it’s a nice color. It isn’t! It’s more like Crappy Pewter.

  2. This is the same Sterling Gray Metallic recently announced for the Malibu…and panned pretty hard in the comments section here for multiple other vehicles. The story goes that it looks great when it’s clean and under bright lights, but underwhelming in the real world.

So if take rate follows opinions here, maybe it’ll be a one-and-done color…replaced with another shade of grey next year…lol.

  3. Argent means silver in French. Brilliant.

  4. Argent used to be a GM truck wheel color, now it’s on Caddy’s! Go figure.

  5. Least it’s better than white.
