2023 Buick Envision Gets New Moonstone Gray Metallic Color: First Look

The 2023 Buick Envision adds two new exterior colors to its palette: White Frost Tricoat and Moonstone Gray Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Gray hue.

Assigned RPO code GZA and touch-up paint code WA-179H, Moonstone Gray Metallic is one of seven exterior colors offered on the premium compact crossover, which include:

  • Cinnabar Metallic
  • Ebony Twilight Metallic
  • Rich Garnet Metallic
  • Sapphire Metallic
  • Summit White
  • White Frost Tricoat (new for 2023)
  • Moonstone Gray Metallic (new for 2023)

The Moonstone Gray Metallic color is an extra-cost option that adds an additional $495 on Preferred and Essence trim levels, while being a no-cost item on Avenir trim level. It can be combined with all interior colorways.

For reference, here are the two available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Envision:

  • Ebony seats with Ebony interior accents
  • Whisper Beige seats with Ebony interior accents

The 2023 Buick Envision brings minor changes over the preceding 2022 model year, dropping the Satin Steel Metallic and Burnished Bronze Metallic paint colors and adding new standard equipment to the Avenir trim level.

The 2023 Buick Envision continues to ride on the GM E2 platform and be powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine. Peak output is rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder is paired with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to either the front wheels as standard, or all four wheels as an available option.

Recently the Buick Envision was named among best vehicles to fit three child car seats. Per Consumer Reports, the Buick Envision is one of 33 models identified as the best for fitting three child seats across the second row.

Production of the 2023 Buick Envision began at the GM Jinqiao plant in Beijing, China, on August 1st, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Envision.

  1. Every week GM announces new paint colours added, and some paint colours being dropped.
I believe the reason for all these colour change announcements, is a simple explanation.
GM purchases all the left over paint from other manufacturers, or maybe even hardware stores that are going out of business.
When they runout of the discounted paint, they drop it, and then look to see what is available the next month.
