Someone Is Asking $375K For 25-Mile 2023 Corvette Z06

Amidst the supply chain issues and reduced inventories nowadays, it can be difficult to secure a new, desirable vehicle straight off the dealership lot. We’ve seen it with various GM cars, trucks and SUVs, and now, we’re seeing it with the 2023 Corvette Z06. If you’re willing to settle for “slightly used” C8 Z06, you now have the opportunity to own one.

2023 Corvette Z06.

Offered for sale by Volo Auto Sales in Illinois, this 2023 Corvette Z06 Coupe only has 25 miles on the odometer, is painted in Torch Red (color code GKZ) and comes outfitted in the range-topping 3LZ trim. Additionally, this unit is equipped with the Adrenaline Red Dipped interior, Bright Red brake calipers (RPO code J6F), carbon ceramic brakes (J57), and spider-design machined-face forged aluminum wheels (SOD). To finish the ensemble, the first owner optioned this Vette with carbon fiber accents found throughout.

As for pricing, this particular C8 Z06 had an MSRP of just under $150,000. It’s unknown if the original owner actually paid this price, but we do know that the next owner likely won’t. Volo Auto Sales currently has this example listed with an asking price of $375,000, which correlates to a 251 percent increase over MSRP.

It’s worth noting that this Z06 does not come equipped with the Z07 Performance Package.

As a reminder, the 2023 Corvette Z06 features naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine as standard. This screaming powerplant produces 670 horsepower at a sky-high 8,400 rpm, as well as 460 pound-feet of torque at 6,300 rpm.

As for structure, the Z06 rides on the GM Y2 platform, the same vehicle platform that underpins all C8 corvettes. Meanwhile, production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  1. sad part is there is someone out there probably dumb enough to actually pay that for it.

  2. Insane! GM/Chevy caused this, they knew demand was going to be insane, they should have planned better! I am trying to locate one, but it is basically impossible!

    1. Exactly. I currently own a C5 SS Vert that I have heavily modified and a C7 GS that has countless bolt-ons. I also want to purchase a C8 Z06, but I cannot find one OR garbage dealerships are marking them up like crazy.

I have never and will never pay over sticker. As far as I am concerned, said vehicles can sit on dealer lots until the tires are dry-rotted and flat. Honest dealers DO exist!

    2. I enjoy my 3 LT C-8 and after paying the msrp for it always thought I got a bargain. Honestly if I had $ 375,000 to spend on a car it would be on a Ferrari. McLaren or an Acura NSX and enjoy the change

  3. Its very sad a dealer would do this. Even sadder that a person would be dumb enough to buy it at that price. Now for the rest of the story. When The Ferrari F40 was first introduced I was fortunate to actually see one in person. The MSRP was $495,000. I did read they were selling at a premium. The person i was speaking with told me they were meeting with the owner of the dealership as they had 2 offers for the car. One at $850,000, and a second at $1.2 million. The world is a crazy place. Cheers!

As I stated above, one of my cars is a C7 GS that I bought new in 2017. I have never put a dime into it, other than the mods that I installed myself. The GM small block V8 is tried and true over ~70 years. Change the oil, top off the coolant and have fun. With a Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc., each one costs $1,000’s per year in maintenance.

To each their own, but a Corvette is where its at. JMHO.

    1. If someone is paying almost $400k for a car, doubt they will care about a voided warranty.

  7. The next owner is taking a big hit on the warranty, now that it’s been voided…..

  8. Is it 6 months old ? The buyer will be the third owner of this car in 25 miles. Does it have a warranty ? By the looks of how the people are dressed in the back ground maybe it is.
If I could afford it I would still buy the Vette over a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or McLaren. My friends who have those cars have to trailer them to Chicago and Detroit just to be serviced. The Chevy dealer is 6 miles away. The Corvette engineers just proved they are some of the best in the world. The car is
    amazing at any price.

  9. What ACTUALLY happened here, for all those who are going to instantly scream “DEALERSHIP SCAM!” is that a GREEDY CONSUMER probably paid MSRP or very close to it for this car (he probably was a VIP at some dealership to get one of the first ones), and then instantly flipped it to this Volo Auto Sales, who probably paid stupid money for it. The only person who made off like a bandit here is NOT some dealership, it’s a greedy consumer who probably took advantage of all negativity directed toward dealerships to brow beat one into selling him the car at a below market-value price.

And then people want to complain about GM’s 6-month retention policy. The issue isn’t retailers, the issue is the flipper who takes advantage and burns a dealer that sold him the car at a fair price.

    1. 100% correct.

This is NOT a dealership scam! What you are seeing here is a Free Market Economy (Capitalism) in action.

With that being said, if some clown wants to pay 3 times what this car is actually worth from this dealership, that is their problem, not mine. In a Free Market Economy, anybody can charge whatever they wish. If someone is foolish enough to pay over sticker, so be it.

BTW, I have a half-eaten ham sandwich for sale on Ebay right now and my starting price is $500,000. 😀

Some countries in their financial histories just move the decimal place over a couple of notches like Mexico did years ago.
Have you seen supermarket prices recently or the price of Levi jeans? Building materials?
Pricing is sky bound on most goods and services.

  12. I am not gonna call greed on this, what the market will bear is a foundation principal of our country.
And fools and their money soon part. Plenty of people have money to pay too much too soon.
Jay Leno says you did no pay too much, you just bought it too soon.
I would not fault anyone that can afford to pay that much.
But if I had some lotto winnings at $375k, I will take a Ferrari. In my neighborhood, any Ferrari beats any Corvette
    on date night…
But to each their own, I wish there was more supply, more supply would bring all prices down everywhere.
Last – that color combo on a coupe, and no Z07 package, including those wheels is my personal choice.
My in the garage daily driver is a Torch Red 2021, with Adrenaline red interior.
And just last week I received from UPS 4 brand new, Z06 14 spoke wheels, like in the picture.
So imagine a 2021 Stingray with Z06 wheels, some may not like it, but I cannot afford $375k.
    Happy Holidays everybody!

Sold the car to a dealership manager then turn around and put the car back up for sale at the dealership for a huge increase over sticker as a used car to sell..Each of those C8 have sold. Over 120k asking prices. And each C8 had less then 20 to 30 miles on them.

  19. I think it looks bad for a dealership when they have a Corvette priced so high. Did anyone notice that the ad did not give the MSRP? Makes a person to think to never do business with this type of dealership. You begin to question their “Honesty and Integrity.”

    Reply
    1. This is used, not new. They posted the window sticker with MSRP on their website. It has no bearing as they paid a greedy owner way over MSRP to buy it from them.

  20. Imagine paying 375k for a car, having to return to get it serviced the same place your local soccer mom gets her minivan serviced hahaha. While the performance specs are indeed impressive, the treatment and experience from other brands leave much to be desired from Chevy, as far as a supercar goes. Paying anything over the MSRP for a corvette is brain dead.
