New Footage Surfaces Of Upcoming Corvette E-Ray: Video

For Corvette fans and enthusiasts, Christmas provided a little extra cheer this year with a new Corvette E-Ray video. Showing a camouflaged C8 E-Ray sliding and drifting in the snow, this clip contains some extra footage when compared to the official Chevy video released back in April 2022.
Although the video had no sound, and the Corvette is wearing a healthy amount of body-hugging camo, it’s obvious that this particular Vette is the E-Ray by the front wheels, which are spinning and ejecting snow when attempting to gain traction.
It’s worth noting that this video is not an official Chevy video. In fact, at the end of the video, the C7 Corvette crossed-flags logo is displayed instead of the updated logo of the C8.
As a reminder, a recent Corvette E-Ray leak in early December 2022 gave us an early preview of the upcoming hybrid Corvette, including exterior paint hues and interior colorways. This leak confirmed that the E-Ray will be manufactured in Coupe and Convertible body styles, as GM Authority was first to report. We were also the first to tell you that the hybrid Corvette will be available in both left-hand-drive (LHD) and right-hand-drive (RHD) configurations.
As for powertrain, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray will feature the same 6.2L LT2 V8 found in the C8 Stingray, along with a supplemental, independently controlled electric motor at the front wheels. The LT2 V8 produces 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque in the Stingray, while the electric motor is expected to develop about 100 ponies. That should put the E-Ray’s total output at around 600 horsepower, slotting it between the C8 Stingray and C8 Z06. Additionally, the E-Ray will also represent the first-ever Corvette with AWD.
While the interior will be the same as that of the Z06 save for some different badging and hybrid-specific interfaces in the instrument panel, the exterior will carry over the wide body treatment from the C8 Z06, including its meaty 275-wide front and 345-wide rear tires.

Electric junk it’s all about investor profits we will not get away from oil everything around us is made of or processed by it even fertilizer qnd insecticide so the ones pushing this or just trying to make a bunch of money on electric vehicles I for one will not be buying one anytime soon and I predict GM’s bankruptcy again pushing all one type of vehicle as usual more moronic decisions there are 285 million cars on the road right now roughly almost all of them are fuel powered so therefore they see a big opportunity to replace all those cars and make huge profits I think in the long run will backfire good luck USA you’re going to need it
EVs are the least of America’s current challenges methinks…
I am not a fan of EVs. That said, the only positive side to the E-Ray, it’s ICE driven, complimented by two electirc motors in the front to give it more horsepower and AWD. It will be interesting if this combination gives it a handling advantage over the C8 and Z06.
As someone that has tracked both a C7 and an awd performance car, I’m looking forward to the E Ray as a track car.
I spoke with a Corvette engineer many years ago during an event at the Sonoma Raceway. He asked me what I would like in a Corvette and I told him I would like a mid engine V8 with two electric motors up front to get me out of the corners in an awd configuration, with at least 6 seconds of acceleration, with a rapid regen before the next corner exit. It’s like the car was made for me. I can’t wait to see how it does on the track. As a GS replacement, I trust that the folks at Corvette got it right.
Now if I can only get one for myself.
GM….wake up and smell the “exhaust!!!!!
EV’s will be the bigge$t lo$$ in your corporation ….period!
Might as well go back the Edsel…..now there was a cash cow!!
AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE CORVETTE WILL SELL, ESPECIALLY TO SKIERS, AND AREAS WITH LONG WINTERS.
A FRONT AND REAR LIFT SYSTEM WOULD HELP.
