GMC Acadia Ventilated Seat Blower Motor Retrofit Under Way

GM has issued a service bulletin regarding a ventilated seat blower motor retrofit for the 2022 GMC Acadia and 2023 GMC Acadia.
The problem: affected units were built without ventilated seat blower motors, and can be identified by RPO code 04O.
The fix: certified GM technicians will be instructed to remove the non-functioning seat cushion ventilation blower with a functional unit. Some vehicles may also require the heated/ventilated seat retrofit performed beforehand. This program will be in effect until February 28th, 2026.
Affected components: ventilated seat blower motor.
Affected vehicles:
- 2022 and 2023 Buick Enclave
- 2022 and 2023 Cadillac CT4
- 2022 and 2023 Cadillac CT5
- 2022 and 2023 Cadillac XT4
- 2022 and 2023 Chevy Suburban
- 2022 and 2023 Chevy Traverse
- 2022 and 2023 GMC Acadia
Number of affected vehicles: it’s unclear at this time how many vehicles are affected by this issue.
Owners should: sources close to the matter tell GM Authority that dealers are now contacting 2022 and 2023 Acadia owners whose vehicles were affected by the ventilated seat blower motor constraint in order to receive a free retrofit.

It’s worth noting that select units of the 2022 and 2023 GMC Acadia currently have several other retrofits available. These include the heated front seats (RPO KA1), ventilated front seats (RPO KU9) and heated rear outboard seats (RPO KA6), as well as a heated steering wheel (RPO KI3).
As a reminder, the GMC Acadia is powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, or the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.
As for structure, the Acadia rides on the GM C1 platform, with production takes place at the GM Spring Hill Plant in Tennessee.
