GM Releases Fix For Incorrect Chevy Silverado HD Camping Loading Information Label

GM has issued a service bulletin regarding an incorrect label for the certain units of the 2022 and 2023 Chevy Silverado HD, both 2500 HD and 3500 HD models.

The problem: affected units are labeled with incorrect camping loading information.

The fix: owners of affected models will be mailed the correct label to install on the vehicle themselves. Meanwhile, dealers will fix any affected units in their inventory. The label carries a part number of 85637822, and the program will be in effect until January 31st, 2025.

Affected components: Camping loading information label.

Affected vehicles:

  • 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD
  • 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD
  • 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 HD
  • 2023 GMC Sierra 3500 HD

Number of affected vehicles: it’s unclear at this time how many vehicles are affected by this issue.

Owners should: wait for GM to send the correct labels, or bring their vehicle to the dealer to have the label installed there.

Contacts:

  • Chevy Customer Service: 1-800-222-1020
  • Customer Satisfaction Program Number: N222368920

It’s worth noting that the 2022 and 2023 Silverado HD currently have other customer satisfaction programs in place, among these being a retrofit for front heated seats. These seats were unavailable back in November 2021, and certain units had been built without them through February 2022. The feature was tagged with RPO code KA1, and was only available for the LT trim level via the Convenience Package (RPO code PCL). Heated Front Seats were also included as standard for 2022 Chevy Silverado HD LTZ and High Country trim levels.

As a reminder, the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD was offered with two engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T, which is rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, as well as the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, which is rated at 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.

Under the skin is a more-capable version of the GM T1 platform, while production took place at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa Plant in Canada.

  1. When does the front and rear parking sensor retrofit start for the 2022 2500’s? That’d I’d like to know…

  2. Customer satisfaction program. Ha ha ha. When does heated steering wheel retrofit start? How about ventilated seat retrofits? Had my 2022 2500hd AT4 for 1 year, not a single retrofit done yet, and no one within GM organization can provide an answer, just endless excuses. And yet, go on the GM lots, there is an ever growing pile of new vehicles with all the chips. Just sitting there because no one is buying anymore. Just “built’ 2023 version of my truck online, the price went up $6700 in 1 year, more than 10% increase! Also includes forced 3 yr subscription to OnStar for $1,500. GM is pushing away past, present, and future customers.

  3. Customer satisfaction???? No retrofits on my 2022 GMC 2500 HD which I’ve had for over a year. If there was customer satisfaction and proper customer service GM would use chips to retrofit first rather than build new vehicles equipped with chips. That would be customer service but wait GM is more concerned about new vehicles and a greater profit than customer satisfaction and customer retention. My next truck will not be from GM after being screwed around this way!
