GM has issued a service bulletin to fix a potential split in an outer body panel for the 2023 Cadillac XT6.
The problem: some units of the 2023 Cadillac XT6 may have a split in the outer body panel above the left-hand rear window.
The hazards: if the body panel were to be cracked, it could compromise the appearance of the vehicle.

GM notes that technicians should not order from GMCCA and need to use a Urethane Window Installation Kit (NPN) from a local body shop. The inspection should take a few minutes, while the repair process could take roughly 10 hours.

The 2023 Cadillac XT6 received a few minor changes compared to the 2022 model, including the deletion of three paint colors and the addition of three new hues, while heated second-row seats, ventilated front seats, embedded navigation and the Bose Performance Series 14-speaker sound system are now fitted as standard on the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels.
As a reminder, the Cadillac XT6 is offered with two powerplant options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine and the atmospheric 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine. Both engines are mated to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive available.
As for structure, the Cadillac XT6 rides on the GM C1 platform, with production taking place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

Wow quality control at Spring Hill is awful.
GM has made a nice body design on the xt6 , but if they want to sell it they need to make more interior options available , such as bold colors in seats , make it look like a Cadillac . I like the car but I want something like th e HIGH COUNTRY pakage on Chevolet or LONG HORN on Chrysler
I totally agree with Allen. I am a retired General Motors dealer and I currently own a 2022 XT6.
I’m embarrassed to say the vehicle is a Cadillac in NAME ONLY!
This rig is nothing more than a dressed up Chevrolet Traverse.
It’s got 7,000 miles on it and I’ll be offloading it for a Genesis GV80.
Repairing an outer body panel, in effect, puts the car in the same position as a damaged car that has been repaired and reduces its residual value.
Vehicles are repaired after final assembly at the factory regularly. There are also thousands upon thousands of brand new vehicles sold each year with transportation damage repaired prior to being listed for sale. There are only a handful of states where disclosing damage repairs to new vehicles is legally required. Even in those states, the dealers have ways to get around it. Reporting requirements are usually based on the repairs being at least 3-6% of the original MSRP. At the end of the day, if the repair work is done correctly there would be no way to know the repair was done and it would have no effect on residual value years down the road.
Besides, people buying GM luxury cars aren’t concerned about residual value. In “normal” car markets, they are notorious for having very poor residual value. People are getting spoiled by the current market. It is poised for a tremendous crash and everything will go back to the way it was 3 years ago.
This is why after near 40 years of buying high end GM vehicles for personal use every year or two to the tune of around $2-million worth, sometimes multiple purchases in a year, I have determined to wait them out hoping that they can come to their senses before I write them any more large checks. Some of those other off-shore nameplates are looking mighty attractive, which is why I’ve already purchased two Hondas and a Toyota for some of my progeny.
Calladic, have a super low price on all new models for 2023 so that I can buy two of them.
