The refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 features front end design changes and a new cabin offered on the LT trim and higher, along with the all-new 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2. As a reminder, the 2022 Silverado 1500 Limited was a stop-gap measure till the refreshed model could be built, and even introduced a few changes of its own over the 2021 models. Recently, GM announced that customers who are waiting to receive their new, refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 may be eligible for a substantial $3,000 compensation offer.
The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 arrives as the fourth model year of the fourth-generation nameplate, introducing a few changes and updates over the fully refreshed 2022 model year. One such change is that 2023 Silverado Duramax models will be equipped with the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 engine turbo-diesel “baby Duramax,” replacing the 3.0L I6 LM2.
The big news for 2023 is the introduction of the first-ever 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison. The Silverado ZR2 Bison represents Chevy’s second collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), a premium off-road aftermarket manufacturer – the first being the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison. Available as an options package exclusively for the Silverado 1500 ZR2, the Bison elevates the off-road capabilities of the ZR2 with a selection of upgrades and unique touches. The 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 itself was recently named a semifinalist for the North American Car Of The Year (NACTOY) award.
Also for 2023, the Silverado light-duty pickup truck receives a $1,000 price hike across the board. The 2023 Silverado received another price increase in November, ranging between $800 and $1,800 depending on trim level.
Production of the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 began at the GM Oshawa plant in Ontario on August 20th, 2022, and at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and GM Silao plant in Mexico on August 29th, 2022, for both Regular Cab and Crew Cab models, and on September 6th, 2022, for Double Cab models.

Mmmmm, still can’t unload those 4 bangers?
My son just bought a 2023 Silverado LT 1500 with the turbo 4 cylinder and 10 speed transmission. It is absolutely the fastest truck I have ever driven. Way way way faster than the 2019 F150 with 2.7 L V6 EcoBoost and 10 speed transmission that he had previously. He pulls a landscaping trailer for work and I’ve used it to pull my 7×16 enclosed cargo trailer. No problem at all. Better than the 2017 Sierra 1500 I had with the 5.3 L. The other 80% of the time it’s driven without a trailer, which is what the majority of use will be for most purchasers, he’s getting high teens around town and 20-21 miles per gallon on the highway. Decent, but would think it would do better (like 25 mpg with that 10 speed). I would buy this any day over the $6/gal 3.0 Duramax and never have to worry about DEF and limp mode. But, I already have a 2022 2500 HD with 6.6 gas and after 1 year, still waiting for Mary Barra to retrofit 3 chips.
No 10sp. it is a 8sp.
When the 4t first came out in 18 not a one dealer around me would put one on there lot.
I would not doubt gm tells them 4t truck or no truck.
Watch the resale value on the 4t,it will probably sink like a rock, just like the 6s do.
Scott, like you, I am also withing for at least 3 chips and what ever it takes for heated stearing wheels heated seats parking assist and also engine cut off at idil I don’t want. Will probably never get any of these features I paid for as GM only interested in new sales. Lesson learned. Never buy anything missing features or don’t pay for them. Inconvence fees are fake promises. Looking to trade for complete vehicle but no body wants without hugh discount for missing features. Calling GM Service CENTER is A total waist of time. Good luck getting the chips.
You are absolutely correct about GM only caring about new sales and not fixing vehicle they already sold. I have a 2022 HD with 1750 miles. It has been in the shop FOUR times. They finally diagnosed it as the ECM. They have had it seven weeks and counting. Putting parts in unsold trucks is theft when people are waiting for warranty work on vehicles they already paid for!
Um, the Ford tests to be faster across the board in all tests by roughly a second 0-60. So not sure where you are getting that information, the Ford is faster, period.
I agree it is a great engine and like the turbos used today that suits many buyers.
I could maybe get interested in a red short bed 4×4 to drive back and forth to work but I also would expect better mileage. The advertised mileage is the same as the 5.3 V-8.
Oh geez, thanks for the correction on my typo. My son’s 23 Silverado lt1500 is in fact an 8-speed transmission not a 10 speed. I was thinking about the 3 l diesel with the 10 speed when I was talk to text the message. Regardless, it is super impressive truck and I would not hesitate to get one, especially with the discounts GM is giving to bring the engine to mainstream. Just like all turbos, need to change the oil on a regular basis. No idea on resale. Ford does not seem to have a problem with resale on their ecoboost engine so it’s possible once these become more mainstream things will flip for better gas mileage vehicles when people realize they don’t need a 15 mile per gallon V8 for 95% of their driving. And once they drive a turbo, they will be hooked. I sure would love a turbo on the 6.6 L gas engine in my 2500 HD. 🙂 And a 10 speed. And heated seats that actually work.
I picked mine up Wednesday. Got GMS and 3k off. 2023 1500 ltz crew cab 4×4 6.2l. Mike Savoie in Troy, MI.
Diesel ’til I die.
I would like to try the 3.0 diesel, but can’t get it in a regular cab truck. I don’t need/want a 4-door LT truck. I would like a 4×4 WT with the 3.0, it’s just a truck.
This is nothing.
I’ve discounted the Silverado completely.
they raise the prices, than lower and want to call it a discount. When in reality the price is back to where it started at. More fake news from Mary at GM.
Hey everyone if you are waiting for retro fits call or stop by your local dealership check with the parts department give them your vin number and have them check for the parts number from the warehouse in which they order to see if they are available for your vehicle. Park assist parts will not be available until January 2023. Some of the others may possibly already be available or on back order but it will not hurt to check.hope this helps.
