GM has issued a product recall for certain examples of 2021 and 2022 Chevy Low Cab Forward (LCF) 4500, 5500 and 6500 models due to an issue related to potentially faulty hex flange lock nuts.
The problem: affected vehicles fitted with faulty hex flange lock nuts, which were used in the suspension and steering joints, were improperly heat treated and pose an increased risk of breaking.
The hazards: if the hex flange lock nut breaks, it can cause a loss of tension, leading to increased steering instability, and increasing the potential risk of a crash.
The fix: certified GM technicians will be instructed to inspect hex flange lock nut and replace them as necessary. The repairs will be performed free-of-charge to the customer.
Affected components: hex flange lock nut.

Comments
This article has an error: the recalled vehicles are the Navistar-built Silverado medium duties, not the LCF. Check the original GM documents on NHTSA’s website.
NHTSA messed it up by leaving out the Silverado part when they entered it into their database.
Leave it to Navistar to get it wrong.
Build quality at Navistar is not up to par.
