The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV received an updated exterior and interior design and was joined by a new, larger sibling, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV.
Like the Bolt EUV, the Bolt EV also rides on the GM BEV2 platform and utilizes the same single-drive electric motor, which produces 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, fed by the 65 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides 250 miles of range per charge.
The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV gets a new illuminated charge port as a standalone option.
Last month, the Chevy Bolt EV received the 2023 U.S. ALG Residual Value Award along with two more models from GM, namely the 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD and 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup. In addition, Domino’s announced it was adding 800 Chevy Bolt EV delivery vehicles to its fleet.
GM is planning to build 70,000 new Chevy Bolts next year. The automaker will boost Bolt production for global markets to 70,000 units in 2023 from roughly 44,000 units for 2022.
Production for the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV began at the GM Lake Orion plant in Michigan on July 26th, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Bolt EV.

Huge rebates on the Bolt means that they aren’t selling, but GM keeps pumping them out. Yet, I can’t find a Camaro SS 1LE or a ZL1 at a dealership that doesn’t have a hefty mark up at least in the Bay Area. If a car is marked up, it must mean they are selling. I believe the Bolt is the only GM vehicle with such a huge rebate. I may be wrong, but if that’s the case, Mary better rethink about going all electric.
These rebates are for the 2022 Bolts which been in place since the Summer to match the 2023 price.
In the same amount of time you took to type all that, you could have googled the sales numbers for the Bolt and Bolt EUV and see that because they’re selling so many, output is set to increase from 40,000 cars a year to 70,000.
USA 1: Funny, because the Bolt I ordered will be sold before it comes in IF I don’t confirm I’m taking the car. My dealer told me that he would order it no matter what because he will have no problems selling it. I can’t speak about the Camaro, but the Bolt is certainly selling well.
Huge rebates this time is confusing, apparently the cost is way down or they are trying to use up some excess inventory of raw materials. There is rumor of new battery tech soon to drop.
Last we heard BoltEV/EUV were flying off the trucks. Leading their categories in sales.
If more Chevy Bolts are sold at these prices, the Tesla Model 3 sales will drop. So this is definitely a true Tesla killer.
Lol yeah and the more Malibus they make, the less Rolls Royces sold, too!
Nobody is choosing a $25k Korean pos with a terrible record over a $50k status symbol unless the latter was never a reasonable option.
Everyone wants evs, right, and everyone predicted that whoever came in with an affordable EV with excellent range WINS.
Yet they still can’t survive without rebates and incentives and government incentives and credits. Tesla is offering $7500 cash back through December, yet we’re told those are flying off the shelves, too. Call me when Ford is offering $7500 cash back on the Bronco or GM is offering huge rebates on Corvette or Jeep cant give away Wranglers without tax credits. We see which vehicles are ACTUALLY in demand.
The Bolt EV/EUV is number one in its segment for Q3, selling 3 thousand more units than were built in the quarter..(after battery recall and replacement there was a bit of a surplus. Stop sell order lifted these things are hot. Looks like Jan 2/3 is the days to buy.. 5300 from GM and 7500 from Uncle Sam.
You think a Camaro is a status symbol?
Get Real!!!
2022..GM build about 44,000 Bolts- 2023 GM scheduling 77,000+
Waiting on my Silverado EV. Tired of waiting in gas lines at Sam’s Club.
I know we are curious how well an euv fits two car seats. Will be nice if the 23s get a rebate.
I’m reading a couple of quite interesting comments on here (Ahem, USA 1 and GetReal). Let’s at least know and understand what we are talking about before commenting.
First, this rebate means NOTHING because there are ZERO (or close to zero) 2022’s to be found. None that I can find within reason. So if there’s no cars to plop this rebate on, does it matter? GM puts this out there and keeps it out there to draw people in. Once in the door, the sales person can/will walk them up to the 2023 with the much loser MSRP and the rest is just taking the order.
Second, the Bolt is NOT made in Korea. It truly baffles me when people make such uninformed comments when they could spend 10 seconds and Google it.
.you are right. The bolt is Assembled in the us but 80% of the parts come from Korea
I almost ordered a 2022 Bolt EV but decided at the last minute to wait a bit. They had none to test drive which really sucked. I’ve driven a Tesla once at work so that’s my only frame of reference on an EV vehicle. Took about 40 seconds to “get it” and drive it like it’s supposed to be driven. One must feather the accelerator or the vehicle will drop like a rock if not. Took a fw seconds to understand how it drives but with traffic coming up in my rear view mirror, I learned real quick.
Nice good job on lowering the price of Chevy bolt GM… now when the Equinox EV comes in at between $30,000-$40,000 this is my guess as to one reason why the Bolt got a price drop… The more EVs Chevy can sell the lower the price will be…I like both ICE and EV so whatever works is A ok with me
