Chevrolet Chile Sales Down 10 Percent In November 2022

Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 10 percent to 2,530 units in November 2022. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s best-selling automobile brand during the month.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Chile sales suffered a notable decrease in November, thereby becoming the second consecutive month that the Bow Tie brand has been in the red in the South American country after the 16 percent drop in October. Chevy has recently been experiencing ups and downs in the Chilean market as a result of unstable local inventory of its best-selling models. Luckily, this has not yet impacted its local sales leadership.

The negative performance in November was driven by notable drops in the sales volume of the Chevy Groove and N400. While the Groove entry-level crossover came up with 168 deliveries less than its total in November 2022, that didn’t prevent it from being Chevrolet’s best-seller for the second month in a row, beating out the popular Chevy Sail. Meanwhile, the N400 commercial van, which was Chevy’s best-selling model in Chile during the same month last year, sold 605 fewer units on a year-over-year basis.

But not all models were in the red, with three nameplates posting healthy gains in Chile, including Sail, Colorado and the commercial truck lineup. The Colorado midsize pickup continues its strong commercial performance, while also being the only model (that was also on sale in November of last year) to be in the green during the first 11 months of the year. It’s also worth highlighting the solid performance of the Chevy Silverado, which appeared on the list as the best-selling full-size pickup in the Chilean market for a second time.
