The GM Authority Take

After experiencing seven consecutive months of monthly sales gains, Chevrolet Brazil sales suffered a notable decline in November – the first month that the brand lost volume during the second half of the year. In fact, last month’s drop cost Chevrolet its second place spot among best-selling auto brands, slipping to third behind Volkswagen, which sold 29,757 units.

In particular, the drop experienced by Chevy in November was marked by significant monthly sales declines of three models -the Chevy Onix, Chevy Cruze and Chevy S10. Though it maintained its position as the brand’s best-selling model as well as the best-selling model in Brazil, the Onix saw sales dip over 1,400 units compared to the same month the year prior. Similarly, the S10 suffered a significant drop of 1,699 deliveries while the Cruze dropped nearly 1,000 units year-over-year.

Three other Chevy models – the Chevy Tracker, Chevy Spin and Chevy TrailBlazer SUV – managed to post noteworthy sales gains. The Tracker continued to lead its category as the best-selling crossover in Brazil, outselling its second-place rival by almost 1,000 units in November and some 3,363 units during the first 11 months of 2022. The Spin, meanwhile, saw one of the best monthly results so far this year, while the TrailBlazer has maintained the solid momentum of the past few months.

  1. gm needs to get the Girl from Ipanema involved in their advertising in Brazil. I would buy a car from her. She is tall and tan and young and lovely…

  2. GM, Ford, an Chrysler need to understand people are tired of SUVs. I like what I see in the Chevrolet Spin van that’s photo is in this story. As for the Trail Blazer an it’s sister the Encore GX … GM poor decison putting a 3 cyc engine in them. This might work in most parts of Europe, and South America as they don’t do freeway miles commuting to work that WILL burn up that engine. I was all set to buy a ’22 Encore GX … till the Buick dealer finally admitted to the 3 cyc engine. No Sale. And my second choice was the regular Encore, none to be found, and I don’t buy sight unseen.
