The GM Authority Take

Cadillac XT4 sales posted a 930 percent leap in sales for a 10 percentage point gain in segment share. The gains continue a trend from last quarter thanks to improved inventory as a result of resumed production following an extended assembly downtown due to supply chain constraints, including but not limited to the ongoing global semiconductor microchip shortage.

The 2023 Cadillac XT4 arrives as the fifth model year of the first-generation small luxury crossover, introducing minor changes over the 2022 Cadillac XT4. It will continue offering a single engine option: the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine producing 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The boosted four continues to be mated to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission for both front-wheel- and all-wheel-drive configurations.

The 2023 Cadillac XT4 entered production at the GM Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City, Kansas, on June 10th, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 XT4.

A refreshed XT4 is finally set to launch for the 2024 model year. GM initially planned the refresh for the 2022 model year, but complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic forced the automaker to punt it first to the 2023 model year, and now 2024.

We have spied several 2024 Cadillac XT4 prototypes undergoing testing in various stages of development. The refreshed model will introduce a new front-end treatment with revised lighting, the latter of which will follow Cadillac’s latest design language with a set of thin horizontal and vertical accent lights. The primary headlights, meanwhile, will be relocated below the horizontal and inside the vertical lights. Out back, the rear lower fascia is in for a few updates.

The changes will continue into the cabin with revisions to the center stack, dash, gauge cluster, and infotainment screen. In fact, the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 is poised to gain a huge widescreen that will stretch across the vehicle dash – a layout similar to that of the fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade, introduced for the 2021 model year, as well as the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq. The XT4 will also gain the vaunted GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance system.

Here is a closer look at the 2024 XT4 interior and a first look at the upcoming 2024 Cadillac XT4 Luxury.

GM actively addressing XT4 production issues as well launching the much-overdue refresh will help keep XT4 sales on the right track.

  1. Sales figures don’t mean anything anymore. With the supply chain issues there is absolutely no way to compare sales anymore. Dealers don’t have much to sell.

  2. If you build them they will sell

    1. They must not be building many of them then. Because those sales suck. And they try to tell us that SUV/CUV’s sell so well?

Take the top 3 on this list and they are about the same as the YTD sales on just the Malibu alone.

Tell me again that sedans don’t sell??
