The Cadillac Lyriq represents Cadillac’s first step towards transitioning to an all-electric vehicle lineup by 2030. For the 2024 model year, the Lyriq will introduce two new trim levels – Premium Luxury and Sport – to join the existing “base” Luxury trim, per the luxury marque’s Y-trim level strategy. Now, we’re getting another look at the new 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport with the following GM Authority photos.
Unfortunately, GM Authority photographers were only able to capture the side profile of the luxury crossover. This angle gives the Caddy EV a blacked-out, Darth Vader-esque motif. All exterior accents that are typically finished in chrome on the Luxury model are now finished in black, including DLO (Daylight Opening) trim, door handles, and wheels.
From what little we can distinguish in regards to the front and rear, some of the front fascia elements also seem to carry the sinister theme.
What our profile-only shots do reveal, however, is a stance that appears to be sitting a little lower than normal, possibly hinting that the EV was lowered. Alternatively, the tester could simply have “extra content” in the cargo area.
We should note that it’s unclear if this is the Lyriq Sport is equipped with the “regular” powertrain or if it’s the Lyriq Sport AWD, which features a higher output and AWD drivetrain.
In case you missed it, GM Authority was the first to present photos of the Lyriq Sport in the wild. That particular example was also a Sport model, and also painted in a sinister black hue.
Motivation for the all-electric crossover is sourced from GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium drive motor tech, while the GM BEV3 platform provides the structure. Production takes place at the GM Spring Hill Plant in Tennessee.
As a reminder, the waitlist for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq has already been filled, while pre-orders for the 2024 Lyriq are currently open.

Can we call it a Wagon? I would!
In the last spy photo, what is the camo’d SUV-like vehicle with a cropped trunk – sandwiched between the Lyriq and Escalade?
Blazer EV 10/10
I don’t think so. It has a straight lower window sill instead of swoopy like Blazer EV. And it wouldn’t have that much camo. I guess Escalade competitor to Range Rover Sport.
Actually I think it might be an Equinox EV.
Now we know both the Acura and Honda are in this caravan.
This is still more “news” about a vehicle that you can’t actually buy.
Well, GM and dealers are happy to take your order, and happy to see you put some money down on your order, but GM isn’t actually delivering the vehicles to customers in any quantity. And GM won’t say why the vehicles you can order aren’t being made, or when your order will actually be delivered. You don’t know, and GM won’t tell you, when you’ll actually see the vehicle in your driveway.
GM has been “taking orders” – customers have been putting money down – for the Lyriq for over 14 months. And GM won’t tell you when they’ll deliver a Lyriq to you. I guess you just have to guess on a deliver date.
Good luck with guessing. I’ll wager that people who ordered a Lyriq over 14 months ago, and counting, weren’t guessing it would be over 14 months for their order to filled….
Kinda makes you wonder. It’s a hell of a way to run a car company…..
I think GM is making a mistake keeping those of us who have a confirmed pre order in the dark as to the what and whys for the delayed deliveries. I keep waiting to hear that my order has been pushed back to 2024. No information breeds thoughts of canceling and moving to a competitor.
Looks like we’ll be driving a Tesla by 2030, (not my preference) but let’s face the facts. Elon has produced 930,422 electric vehicles and delivered 936,222. How? Because they design and manufacture all their parts in house and not depend on outside manufacturers and vendors. And Tesla numbers suggest a 82.5 year to year growth. He must be doing something right!. Meanwhile GM delivered 457 vehicles, with 25 Bolts and one Hummer last quarter. Absolutely pitiful! Great job Mary.
Yet GM shows a 4 quarter profit? Maybe it’s all that deposit money on vehicles ordered they can’t make without the parts they don’t have? Well, good luck GM with Mary at the helm, keep hugging Joe so he can sign another bale out package coming soon. BTW: Biden has never mentioned Tesla ever, cause it’s a non-union company.
People are already starting to Cancel their pre-orders as the wait was too long and they bought a competitor vehicle instead.
Damn Shame GM can’t run a production line any longer…. They must have hired too many WOKE people who can’t do anything actually constructive – such as run a production line…
They wouldn’t let me order one in 2021, since all you got was a busy signal, and on the OFFICIAL May 19th, 2022 ordering day I DID get a confirmed order (supposedly), but again looks like it will be January or February before actually receiving the vehicle…. Embarrassing.
You can be certain GM vehicles won’t be the cause of any Electric Grid problems, simply because they will make hardly any.
We ordered our 2020 Cadillac CT6 Premium Luxury and waited 6 months for it to arrive. The day it hit the dealers’ lot, a manufacturers rep wanted to take it as his car since he had been waiting for a several months also. Since it was a sold car, he couldn’t take it.
GM/Cadillac has been having this issue way before COVID and supply chain issues. Somebody needs to get off their a$$ and decide if they want to be a US automaker or just supply China.
It looks damn good murdered out
new slogan: We have the lowest standards in the world.
Not a fan at all especially with the spare tire wheel look. The door handles are blah and the back end looks disjointed from the front.
