C6 Corvette Loses Control Exiting Car Show, Hits Crowd: Video

Car shows are typically a great place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of some sweet rides among like-minded enthusiasts. Unfortunately, all it takes is one idiot with a lead foot to ruin it for everyone, as was the case for the driver behind the wheel of the C6 Corvette seen in the following video.
Per a report from local ABC news affiliate WFAA, the incident occurred last Saturday in Trophy Club, Texas, a suburb of Dallas-Fort Worth, around 10:30 a.m. local time. As we can see in the video, a crowd of people had lined up alongside the Highway 114 service road to watch as vehicles exited a local Cars and Coffee event. The conditions look clear and sunny, although the jackets and hoodies in the crowd indicate that temperatures are likely a bit chilly.
As the crowd videos the cars exiting, we see a C6 Corvette pull out onto the road, with the driver nailing the throttle between some cones. As soon as the driver hits the throttle, the rear end of the sports car kicks out, sending it sideways and aiming it directly at the adjacent crowd.
The crowd reacts by moving away from the curb, but it’s too late. The C6 Corvette hops over the curb and plows into the crowd, visibly running over several of the spectators. Some folks rush to help those hit by the car, with one of the victims unconscious on the ground next to the Corvette’s fender.
According to the WFAA report, three teenagers suffered injuries as a result of the crash. Their conditions were not reported, although witnesses say that one of the victims hit her head on the windshield, while another injured their leg. Two of the victims were loaded onto stretchers by medics.
The C6 Corvette was subsequently impounded, although no charges have been reported.

The fastest way to look like an a**hole while exiting a car show? Cut the wheel and stomp the gas!
Too much car, not enough driver. 🙁
All it takes is one show off who can’t handle the HP to ruin an event for those attending.
A triple lawsuit to the Vette driver. Merry Xmas dude.
Incompetent a-hole behind the wheel with too much money and not enough brains or experience. Easy-peasy correction and establishment of correct direction and control for anyone except this dunce. Hoping those who were injured recover quickly with no permanent disability, physically or mentally.
A saying during the muscle cars day, more HP than brains. The Cars & Coffee I attend in Orlando FL, deputies are just outside at the exit driveway and the exiting road way. More than once vehicles are stopped. When it is crowded many peds do stand along the drive to view the vehicles though there is no entrance fee unless you drive in.
What money? A C6 is 9-18 years old at this point. An early model with miles on it can be had for under $15.
This is what happens when your Corvette identifies as a Mustang.
It’s either a dumbass in a Mustang or dumbass in a Vette, and the Mustang drivers have been quiet lately.
Just plain stupid. Trying to compensate for a shortfall in another part of the body.
(the brain)
good wishes and positive thoughts to the bystanders.
new drivers, cars new to a person, unaware of what really happens under WOT.
i always wanted more access to places to practice , practice everything that can go wrong
under safe comtrolled setting like big open skid pads, sometimes covered in water.
hear me out, we have driving school for basic instruction. but every single driver should be able to go to an affordable, local, school where you learn about water, ice, snow , emergency driving.
learning what it feels like when you have lost control.
I have been to these schools, my children went to them.
But they are not cheap, they are not easily accessible.
We are better drivers because we have felt what sliding out of control feels like.
what do you think ?
Cold tires, cold streets and lack of skill .
And a lack of good judgement.
Let’s be clear, the Corvette didn’t lose control as the writer suggests.
This kind of cheap gets permits for car shows cancelled or outlawed by towns. Nice going. Wanna race go to a trac.
No doubt the car has summer tires, these are really squirrely when the temp. drops.
I wonder if the stupid driver apologized or admitted fault?? Probably not. I’m sure he blamed blamed all the people for standing in the side of the road. And how is the driver not charged with reckless driving? And causing physical injury??
Just like #45 it is not his fault!
That is something Joe always does… it was Putin, the guy before me, the entire world, but I have done everything right.
Omg, when will drivers ever learn you can’t stand on it when in a turn like that. Way too much power to the back wheels. These aren’t late 1970s corvettes.
Lose control with wheelspin – therefore I leave in my ’63 Galaxie the right way ( 406 with three 2s & 4 speed) = as soon as I pull onto the street I shift to 2nd and floor it. This causes all 3 carbs to open wide – but no tire spin. Impressive sound for the “audience” . . . but no one gets hurt. The cops don’t bother me, because no real speed attained.
