The 2024 GMC Sierra HD lineup is set to get a mid-cycle refresh that will include updates to the exterior, an overhauled interior, along with noteworthy powertrain and capability upgrades. This particular 2024 Sierra 2500 HD is a Crew Cab, Standard Bed configuration, spec’d in the luxurious Denali trim level, and appears to be finished in White Frost Tricoat (Color Code G1W) exterior paint, which is a $1,095 option. However, it’s worth noting that due to the less-than-ideal lighting, there is a small chance this truck may instead be painted in Quicksilver Metallic ($495 charge) or Summit White (no charge). Additional (extra cost) colors for the 2024 Sierra HD range include Titanium Rush Metallic, Sterling Metallic, Volcanic Red Tintcoat, Redwood Metallic, Meteorite Metallic and Downpour Metallic.
Regardless, the heavy duty pickup is a 2500 HD model, as per the location of the new badge on the front bumper, and is equipped with the updated Duramax turbodiesel engine, as well as the GMC MultiPro Tailgate out back. Additionally, this Sierra Denali rocks the new-for-2024-Denali 22-inch wheel design.
Up front, we see the new-for-2024 grille front fascia design, headlined by the new front grille. Additionally, we can clearly see a new set of headlamps with the revised C-shaped headlamp signature.
Meanwhile, the new wheels can be certainly be described as unique, and add a bold appearance to the HD truck.
The Sierra HD model lineup slightly changes for the 2024 model year with the introduction of the uber-luxurious, range-topping Denali Ultimate trim level. As such, this heavy duty Sierra Denali slots one trim below the peak.
As a reminder, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD will continue to use the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, which continues to be rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. The 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax remains optional across most trims, while being standard on the all-new Sierra Denali Ultimate. For the mid-cycle refresh, the turbodiesel has been upgraded to produce 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, a 25 horsepower and 65 pound-feet or torque bump.
An Allison-branded ten-speed automatic transmission will serve as the only transmission option.
Towing is vital for heavy duty trucks, and the 2024 Sierra HD offers max towing of 21,900 pounds for 2500 HD Crew Cab models, and 36,000 pounds for 3500 HD.
