The new Corvette Z06 GT3.R racing machine was just spotted undergoing testing at Sebring International Raceway in Florida ahead of its competition debut in 2024.
GM announced the 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R in November of the 2021 calendar year, unveiling a full-blown turn-key race car that would be available to customer race teams in the 2024 calendar year. Built to global GT3 regulations, the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R will be available to race in a number of different race series, including the IMSA WeatherTech Championship, Fanatec GT World Challenge, and Intercontinental GT Challenge.
By comparison, the Corvette C8.R that competes under the Corvette Racing team is not available for purchase by customer teams, while the 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R is specifically designed for customer racers and will likely not be fielded by the factory team.
Development for the 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R has been ongoing since its debut late in 2021, with Corvette Racing talent taking the helm for testing purposes, with a focus on making the race car accessible and easy to drive, even for non-professionals.
As for the specs, the new 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R incorporates the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 V8 LT6 gasoline engine for motivation, the same mid-mounted powerplant that drives the street car. However, in order to meet competition rules, output will be detuned from the street car’s 670 horsepower to fall between 500 and 600 horsepower. Further highlights include a six-speed sequential motorsport transaxle, motorsports-specific double wishbone suspension upgrades, as well as motorsports-specific six-piston-front, four-piston-rear brakes with unique cooling systems. The exterior is covered in wind-tunnel-tested lightweight carbon fiber aero and body components, while the wheels are endurance-spec single-lug units for rapid pit changes.
Customers can submit their interest via Chevrolet’s website now. Further information on pricing and a final release date are still forthcoming. Until then, we’ll have to enjoy the sights and sounds of development, as seen in the short video below:

This needs to get released already so we can kick some Euro ass respectfully of course lol
I have grown to love the unique C8 Corvette sound and I still get my buzz from the Cadillacs.
The Weed Eater sound?
Wonder what this thing costs.
What’s the real difference would it cost you’re not buying it neither are many others probably won’t sell 10
It will be sold to established teams. Maybe in a couple years used ones will find ways to collectors. These are not just for the average buyer.
Who will have the first one for sale on Bring A Trailer?
I’m sure it runs great, but sorry, I’m not a fan of the sound of it at all. If I wanted a car that sounded like that, I’d buy a rice burner and put a fart can muffler on it.
