There has been much speculation surrounding the 2024 Corvette E-Ray, with enthusiasts and prospective buyers itching to learn more about upcoming C8 variant. Now, GM Authority has learned what the future Corvette hybrid will look like, as well as new exterior paint jobs and interior colorways.
In photos submitted to our inbox, we see multiple 2024 C8 E-Ray Vettes conceptualized on a visualizer, which allows us to gleen all types of details. Most notably, these Corvettes are rocking body-colored trim pieces and the Z06 widebody, hinting that the E-Ray may be positioned in a similar fashion to that of the C7 Grand Sport. An E-Ray nameplate badge is mounted on the lower rear quarter panel, while outboard exhaust tips are seen out back.
As for rollers, there are four five-spoke aluminum wheels and three carbon fiber wheel designs to choose from, as well as two wheel caps motifs.
Moving onto exterior and interior options, we see that Coupe models have the choice between a body-colored or transparent roof. Meanwhile, all E-Ray Vettes have the option to select one of three interior trim packages, which include the Stealth, Carbon Fiber Level 1 and Carbon Fiber Level 2 packages.
In the case of colors options, we see 13 exterior hues and 10 interior colorways. The 2024 Corvette introduces a few new exterior colors and interior colorways to replace older options:

It’s worth noting that these leaked images confirm an earlier GM Authority report that the 2024 Corvette E-Ray will be available in both Coupe and Convertible configuration.
As a quick reminder, the Corvette hybrid will featured the same 6.2L LT2 V8 found in the C8 Stingray, with a supplemental, independently controlled electric motor up front. The LT2 V8 produces 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque in standard specification, while the electric motor is expected to deliver around 100 horsepower. This would bring the E-Ray’s total output to roughly 600 horsepower, placing it between the entry-level Stingray model, yet below the high-performance Z06 track monster.

Hybrid anything is lame. Go BEV or ICE or not at all.
ICE or hybrid only. BEV and sports cars don’t mix. They’re heavy and have terrible handling. BEV trucks, SUVs, commuter cars are fine. I don’t want a 5000lb sports car. Take that BEV nonsense far far away from Corvettes and Camaros please.
More garbage starting to get really turned off about the Corvette and I own a C6 Z06 which I love to drive and love to own another dumb move is getting rid of the Grand Sport name Now call the eray maybe they should call it the I Ray for idiot Ray what happened to the Raceway names for paint schemes now the name sound like they could be on any car other junk that is
The E-Ray is also a money thing look at the companies that are building these EVs and Hybrids MERCEDES,AUDI, the E-Ray will start probably at 80-90 high end cars instead of building cars that are affordable then transitioning to expensive they have started at the top and are going down to the po folks
notice how many dislikes you’ve gotten? notice how wrong you are?
There are two types of hybrids – parallel and series and the motors run at different times and do different things. This is no Prius system. One needs to look closer.
It still has the wide body though. I’m on the list for one because I think it will be 6 years before I see a new ZO6… if I ever do!
I made a deposit on the Z06 and was placed on the wait list like you. My dealer said it could be 3-4 years until I get one. That said, I talked to my dealer yesterday and said I would like to put a deposit on the E-Ray and get on the waitlist and see which one I can order first. The dealer said they are not taking deposits or creating a waitlist until it is officially announced. I asked, when will it be officially announced and he replied he has no clue. I told him to call me as soon as they are taking deposits. They cannot meet the current demand for the C8 and Z06 in Bowling Green, how are they going to fit the E-Ray into their production schedule? What a cluster.
It’s been like that since the beginning and they still use the strike and covid as an excuse oh and can’t get the “parts” and whatever to fulfill the orders. Just who plans the production and who decides what they need to build this car I think it’s crap after 4 almost 5 years and the slow production gives the dealers the incentive to add $$$ to the sticker because “the car is in so much demand and we can’t get what we need to fill our orders” GM is loving it and they don’t care what the dealers are doing.
Exactly! They handled this all wrong, well right for them. Build hype and hood back and then let dealers knock you over head for 20K over. Shame on you GM! This is being handled all wrong and nothing but greed. Lied about making this the average working man’s car that could be in every driveway of someone with a good job. American apple pie my butt. So turned off don’t think I’ll ever buy another GM product. Just make the C8 stingray available as promised first and do that right before moving on to these other variants. They sucked everyone in then dashed your hopes.
gm president Mark Reuss recently argued to investors that hybrids were unnecessary and promised he would not dilute gm’s electric investment with them. I suppose the E-Ray is the exception to this.
“According to an article by Business Insider, some automakers, like Toyota, have been using hybrids to make the transition to an EV-only lineup a little easier, while Reuss believes this approach to be unnecessary.”
“We’re not going to dilute our investment with hybrids,” Reuss said. “If you look at some of the other companies that are doing or have signaled that they’re going to have an all-electric lineup, the profitability picture is quite different.” ~ GMAuthority
Just another variant that you won’t be able to get for for 2 years lol.
I like the way the current one looks better. Also, I think that the Corvette should remain as a gas vehicle. Also, what ever happened to the plans for the Corvette Zora, I can’t wait to see that one.
Am I the only one that just doesn’t understand the point of the E-Ray at all?
I do not understand why GM felt the need to spend money on R&D on this Hybrid system for the C8 Vette which I am assuming is not going to be a high volume vehicle Lol
Is it Strictly for CAFE purposes? If so I guess I understand it as long as it keeps the Vette alive.
Speculative, but maybe Chevy is doing this as a stepping stone to the future Corvette BEV?
Maybe there is a Corvette family coming and it will include hybrid variants along with EV?
Regardless, they obviously think there’s benefit to it so why question. Instead, look forward to what this E-ray will provide in performance. Maybe Z06 levels of performance without the track focused nature?
I think the main reason is to add an AWD variant without having to significantly alter the packaging. The extra power and presumably better fuel economy may just be side benefits.
It seems like they’re taking cues from how Porsche manages their 911 range. They have many 911 variants that are differentiated enough to appeal to different customers who are willing to pay premium prices.
Wealthy people like buying hybrid sports cars. Quite simple.
Ev is often simply “virture-signalling” where I live…
Another thought occurred look at California’s electric grid and they’re trying to make the whole country that way with solar and wind having brownouts and blackouts and telling you not to charge your car there you go think about that one
Fuel economy is less. I’m sure because of the extra weight and the front mounted electric motors, putting drag on the drive train when not in use. REGEN. It is fast but no other benefit.
Hybrids offset Range Anxiety by offering flexibility.
I thought there was already an update to the interior in the works that eliminated the wall of buttons down the center comsole?
Noooo. Do not touch my piano buttons.
Looks pointless
Meh, looks like a regular Stingray
Well, if you willing to put a couple millions on the table, I’m sure GM will make a special one for you.
What problem is solved by offering this car?
who said that there was a problem to begin with? but either way, more performance than the regular stingray, cheaper than the zo6 + awd. win – win.
E-Ray adds AWD for people that want a safer sport car, more likely to save inexperienced drivers from wrapping their $80k car around a tree.
Longer term, GM can expand the battery pack to give it commuter rage, for all-EV commutes.
This car is basically a Zora light since it’s been reported that the Zora will likely be using a similar system with a boosted engine, the ZR1 will likely be boosted engine only. This is actually an interesting car in the fact that all the pieces are present to create a very quick drag car. If you throw a supercharger or turbo on it you suddenly have a 700-800 hp AWD supercar. As far as cosmetics the painted pieces can easily be swapped out making it look more like a Z06.
Sounds good in talk but what do you do with the imbalance of the electric motor drag. Do you put on larger motors, rewind them for more rpm/horse power. Like we did with slot cars?
What is the weight of this new car?
I think it’s more that battery tech has improved so much, that “traditional” hybrid systems can mate well to Ultium packs.
Especially in a configuration like E-Ray, where the front wheels are sponsored by a gas engine at the rear, so if the battery ever gets too low, the AWD just hands power back to the engine and rear wheels.
I would be very surprised if eventually both E-Ray and Zora didn’t get AC outlet charging, and the ability to drive very long distances in EV-only/Eco modes.
This is a glorified golf cart pretending to be a corvette.
You only wish you have the knowledge to make such a golf cart.
I’d rather have a hybrid V8 than a BEV.
Ferrari has gone hybrid with the SF90, so why shouldn’t Corvette do it at a third or less the price? Makes sense if they can keep the weight down. Will it be a plug-in?
The C7 GS had no hp performance gain but plenty of handling gain over the Stingray and Z51. This has both and is a good successor to the C7 GS. The designers and engineers knew this variant and the all electric model were going to be built and the platform is ready for it. Progress. Well done Chevy.
Sounds good in talk but what do you do with the imbalance of the electric motor drag. Do you put on larger motors, rewind them for more rpm/horse power. Like we did with slot cars?
They can’t build enough ZO6s and now they are going to take on this folly?
I’m sure it will go over nicely in California that is until they need to be recharged during their “brown outs” or can’t wait in the long lines to even start the long process of charging the battery! Tomg
Just when the industry has pretty much perfected ICE technology they’re going to switch to battery power and that’s a shame. I’ll get one but I’ll be a truck as they’re heavy either way and I wont;t miss the vibration and sound so much. But on a performance car no way! My 1LE made me smile at idle as well as with the pedal down and everyone around me took note (pun) of that car even when not looking at it. You can’t get that with EV and synthesized sound is just silly!
Is the shiny thing on the bottom of the Steering Wheel a sensor?
no its a e-ray plaque
Uggh. Here we go again with another loooong “Z06 type” rollout for the E-Ray
Personally, I just don’t see a big demand for the E-Ray as compared to the Z06. Will gm produce more E-Rays, than Z06s? Time will tell.
Is that a Corvette 2+2 on the left of the first gallery spy photo? What is gm doing to the Corvette?
No, think you’re just seeing the waterfall back panel.
A 2 2 configuration is possible, but I’ve seen nothing here to indicate that. Would require frame changes the departed folks that designed it never anticipated on.
