The 2024 Buick Encore GX is due to launch in early 2023, and we are learning more and more about the refreshed model. Now, GM Authority is the first to report that the 2024 Encore GX will receive major updates to its cockpit, most notably to the screen configuration.
While photos are currently not available, GM Authority has learned from sources familiar with the matter that the 2024 Buick Encore GX will feature a unified horizontally-oriented enclosure for the digital gauge cluster and center stack screen. The setup is similar to that introduced by the upcoming Buick Envista, which will also launch in the U.S. early next year.
The screen panel on the updated Encore GX will sit atop the dash. From here, the large screen enclosure will run toward the driver to encapsulate the digital instrument panel. Within the center stack, the center AC vents will be repositioned to be below the new center screen, the HVAC control panel will be located below those vents.
The changes will result in a more modern and tech-laden cabin for the Encore GX.
Beyond the cockpit, the upcoming mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 Encore GX will equip the small crossover with a new front fascia with slim daytime running lights positioned high in the fascia with the projector headlights mounted lower. A tweaked front grille will complement the new lighting arrangement. The aesthetic, spotted with not a trace of camouflage earlier this week, is very similar to that of the upcoming Buick Envista. At the rear, the 2024 Buick Encore GX will get new badging, while new wheel designs are also expected to join the lineup.
The refreshed 2024 Encore GX will also receive the all-new Avenir trim level. This range-topping variant will provide the crossover with several unique exterior accents and higher quality interior elements, while loading it to the gills with technology and active safety features.
For now, the current 2023 Buick Encore GX is available with two engine options, which are expected to carry over into the 2024 model. These include the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, which produces 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T gasoline engine, which develops 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque.
As for structure, the 2023 Encore GX rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set. Production for the Chinese market takes place at the SAIC-GM Dongyue South plant in China, while North American-bound models will continue to be built at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.
Production of the 2024 Encore GX is slated to start in March 2023, as GM Authority was first to report.

I am leasing a Buick Encore GX ST that will be turned in October of 2023. I am hoping to replace it with a Buick Encore GX. I have a few questions to ask. Does it have all wheel drive and the ST version available? Also what is the MSRP?
MSRP will be more than it’s worth.
Breaking news: Company creates product and charges specific amount in attempt to make a profit.
That describes *every* vehicle sold today by every manufacturer.
Sorry to see the smaller Encore leaving the line-up as it’s the perfect size vehicle for our needs. Driving a 2015 VW Golf SE right now and love it but, only the GTI & R version will be imported to the U S in the coming year. Both are out of my price range as I need a vehicle under 174″. The Mini Cooper Countryman could work but again, a bit too pricey for what I want to spend. The Encore was also the perfect size but now, have to look for something else.
Not sure the Encore GX will work as it looks to be around 175″ or so. Might be forced to look to Hyundai/Kia to choose the next vehicle. Luckily, they have a few models that will fit our size constraints.
Chevrolet Bolt or Bolt EUV.
The CX-30 is 173″ long and a much better overall vehicle than any current gm offering in the segment. That or the Kia Seltos, I prefer the Seltos interior over the Hyundai Kona.
I would consider one if they ever make it in the United States. Still pissed they took the Equinox out of Canada and only make them in Mexico for the U.S.
At least it is still North America.
Dan B… That h4cksaw is a TROLL every GM AUTHORITY POST he goes on he says negative things about. He’s best left ignored if he thinks Mazda is better then let him think that… You and I know better you sell them I owned a 2015 Mazda 6 and I was not impressed because before 100,000 miles the whole car was falling apart and making noises. I currently own a 2010 Equinox so far it’s got 115,000 miles on it and is holding up much better then the Mazda ever did.
@Chevy Man: I agree. It seems that they have been more quiet lately, but then the shill (his words) shows back up and leaves yet another stupid comment.
I’ve been at this dealership for close to 7 years now and I’m kind of surprised at how badly the Mazda’s hold up. They seem great new and they do get lots of good reviews, but they are not living with them for months or years. But what does surprise me is how many Mazda owners will stick with Mazda even with those issues. I’ll never forget the time I delivered a new Mazda 6 for a broker and the customer had a 3 year old Mazda 6 lease return. His old one had low miles, but the interior looked like it was at least 20 years old. The leather was puling apart, dried and hard/shriveled up. Foam was coming out of the dash near the windshield. The entire inside looked terrible. Had that been my car, I would never give another dime to Mazda. Same with any GM. If I had a 3 years old GM vehicle that did that, I would not get another one.
