Customers eager to take the 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup into the dirt may be interested in the new Off-Road Readiness Package, which adds in a variety of trail-ready equipment perfect for exploring the great outdoors.
The new Off-Road Readiness Package for the 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is tagged with RPO code PCH and is offered as an LPO-level option, which means it’s installed by the dealer, as opposed to at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced.
The Off-Road Readiness Package includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Spare Tire Jack and Tool Kit (5Y2)
- Off-Road Recovery Kit (S1H)
- Spare 18-inch Black Spare Wheel with Machine Accents (SGX)
- 18-inch Spare Tire (SC9)
- Bed-Mounted Vertical Spare Tire Carrier (SEP)
- Tire Pressure Monitor (SD5)
Looking over the goodies in store, it appears as though the Off-Road Readiness Package is the perfect addition for those willing to test the GMC Hummer EV’s rough-stuff prowess. Pricing for the package is currently unavailable.
Notably, the Off-Road Readiness Package is only available for the 2023 GMC Hummer Pickup EV3X trim level. The package also requires the Extreme Off-Road Package (Z6X).
In addition to the new Off-Road Readiness Package, the 2023 GMC Hummer EV now offers the new Extreme Off-Road Package, Sport Package, Bronze Beadlock Package, and EV3X Launch Package, per previous GM Authority coverage.
As a reminder, the GMC Hummer EV rides on the all-electric GM BT1 platform, with production taking place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, previously known as the GM Detroit-Hamtramck facility. The power spec varies between the various trim levels, with the GMC Hummer Pickup EV3X trim level running a three-motor setup producing 800 horsepower. Range-per-charge is around 300 miles. For those who may be unaware, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup is currently only available in the EV3X and range-topping Edition 1 trim levels for the 2023 model year.

Yes, that’s the optional gas generator alternate fuel package that’s mounted in the bed of the truck.
So, IF the Hummer owner puts out a few more thousand dollars for the AC/DC Generator Option and IF there is another EV owner in the woods that chose to spend a few more thousand dollars for their vehicle’s AC/DC Generator Option, they MAY be able to borrow some juice to get them out of the woods. Awesome!
To the EV Hummer buyer, off-roading means pulling onto the lawn under the shade tree for a wash on Saturday afternoon!
