2023 GMC Canyon Denali In Sterling Silver: Live Photo Gallery

GM recently pulled the sheets on the third-generation 2023 GMC Canyon last August, bringing with it a bevy of exterior, interior and powertrain updates and changes over the current, outgoing truck. Today, we’re a getting a look at the redesigned Canyon Denali coated in Sterling Silver in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

Our exclusive photos show a Canyon Denali – the range-topping trim of the lineup. The truck is coated in the Sterling Silver (paint code GXD) exterior paint and equipped with the following options (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

  • 20-inch Diamond Cut Dark Grey Aluminum wheels (RD4)
  • 275/60R20SL all-terrain tires (QAE)
  • Five-inch rectangular Chrome assist steps (E15)
  • Chrome door handles (E20)
  • Chrome mirror caps (DP9)

The front fascia, meanwhile, features the very bold (and very shiny) trim-specific grille, with the red GMC logo. The headlights are arranged in a two-tier configuration, with the thin row at the top serving as the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). The actual headlights are located in the housing beneath those thin DRLs. Lower on in the front fascia, a set of small fog lights is present and accounted for.

With the introduction of an all-new generation, the 2023 GMC Canyon will receive the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine. Originally launched in the 2019 Chevy Silverado and 2019 GMC Sierra, the L3B is the sole engine available for the third-gen Canyon. Unlike the 2023 Chevy Colorado, which receives three different tunes of the engine depending on trim level, the all-new Canyon is only available with the range-topping 2.7L Turbo High Output tune, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.

As for the transmission, GM has decided to offer an eight-speed automatic transmission as the sole gearbox, which has been improved over that of the current gen truck.

Meanwhile, production of the 2023 Canyon will kick-off on January 25th, 2023 at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri. The Canyon will ride on an updated version of the same GMT 31XX platform used by the previous generation. Known internally within GM as 31XX-2, the updated architecture will be shared with the Canyon’s corporate platform-mate, the 2023 Chevy Colorado.

Official pricing and other details will follow closer to the start of production.

  1. I’m glad I ordered mine in volcanic red. That being said, it is too bad there isn’t a long bed option.

          1. I wish, I wanted a blue Denali but it’s only black, white, sterling, red and bronze for the Denali.

The at4 has more fun colours.

  6. Why get rid of the proven 3.6L engine? Proven, efficient, and reliable. A four cylinder, turbocharged engine may not be as reliable in all climate conditions.

    1. The V6 is being phased out.

The Turbo engine is and has been efficient and reliable in all conditions.

      1. Some idiot GM engineer “Hey let’s put bicycle reflectors in the fenders, that’ll really class it up”.

        1. There actually lights and not just reflectors. GMC product guy said going forward many GMC’s will have them.

The colorado has a spot for them but no lights, i rather have something there than just blank spot that looks like something is missing

  7. Why don’t they make the truck level ,I got the leveling kit on my 2022. Most people don’t drive around with 750lbs in the box to level the truck. My truck looks so much better with the leveling shims. Love the truck.

    1. they did level it more than the 2015-2022 models which have the rear higher, which i liked. Now it looks like a taco.

    2. #1 not everyone wants it sitting low when they tow a trailer or haul a load. Look at any Toyota towing or hauling and they are tail low.

#2 a leveling option is available if it bothers you.

  8. Jonnys84 You happen to know some kind of ballpark price on the AT4 or the Denali?

    Reply
    1. No pricing on my end. I’m in Canada, and GM Canada hasn’t released pricing. But from what I’ve seen in the states regarding the Colorado, it looks like a 2,000 to 3,000 price increase year over year. So up here should be 4 to 5 more than the current gen that’s on the road. Will need to wait until January for final pricing I bet.

  13. Just ordered my Denali in white, sunroof, floor liners, and trailering package on January 25th. $64,311 Canadian (preferred pricing) . Just waiting to hear when the order will be picked up by GM and given a build date. Can’t wait. Looks like it’ll be a beast. Have the 2.7 in my CT4 with a 10 speed. Love that combo, silky smooth. Hope the 8 speed doesn’t disappoint. Cheers.
