2023 Chevy Spin Adds Two New Trim Levels In Brazil

Seven months after the launch of the updated 2023 Chevy Spin lineup in Brazil, General Motors has just added two new trim levels for the twelfth model year of Chevrolet‘s subcompact MPV in the South American country.

The automaker is introducing two new variants of the 2023 Chevy Spin equipped with an updated manual transmission in Brazil, with the goal of further bolstering the model’s position as the best-selling and most affordable seven-seat vehicle in both the Brazilian markets and all of South America. Until now, the 2023 Spin has only been offered with a six-speed automatic transmission in said market.

“Among SUVs and crossovers, about a quarter of sales are still configurations with manual transmission, which tend to have slightly lower acquisition, maintenance and running costs than automatic ones,” said Chevrolet Product Marketing Manager at GM South America, Gustavo Machado. “In the case of Spin, this savings is approximately 5 percent,” he added.

In particular, the 2023 Chevy Spin’s two new trim levels correspond to the base LS and LT that now come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, complementing the current offering of six-speed automatic transmission variants. Both configurations are offered exclusively in a five-seat configuration and are primarily intended for fleet customers.

With the arrival of the new LS and LT models with the manual transmission, the 2023 Chevy Spin lineup features a total of eight different configurations spread across the following five trim levels: LS, LT, LTZ, Premier, and Activ. All versions are powered by the venerable 1.8L naturally aspirated engine that develops 111 horsepower and 128 pound-feet of torque.

The 2023 Chevy Spin LS and LT equipped with a six-speed manual transmission are now available across the entire network of official Chevrolet dealers in Brazil, the country of origin and sole manufacturing hub of the popular South American minivan. As such, the improvements to the 2023 Spin serve as a prelude to the major update the MPV will receive for the 2024 model year.
