2023 Chevy Silverado HD Receives Price Increase In December

The 2023 Chevy Silverado HD is the final model year before the introduction of a full model refresh for the 2024 model year. Now, the heavy-duty pickup just got yet another price increase.
The latest price increase for the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD applied during the month of December 2022 includes a $1,000 increase to the MSRP of all trim levels and configurations. As such, the least-expensive 2023 Chevy Silverado HD model on offer, namely the 2500 HD WT Regular Cab / Long Bed model with 2WD and naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, now starts at $43,395, including destination freight charge (DFC). Meanwhile, the most-expensive 2023 Chevy Silverado HD model on offer, namely the 3500 HD High Country Crew Cab / Long Bed DRW model with 4WD and 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, now starts at $83,745, including DFC.

Notably, this $1,000 MSRP increase for the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD is the second MSRP hike applied to the 2023 Silverado HD in the last three weeks. Late last month, GM increased the MSRP for the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD by $100 to $400, depending on the trim level. In addition to raising the MSRP by $100 to $400, GM also increased the model’s DFC by $100, raising it from $1,795 to $1,895, per previous GM Authority coverage.
Notably, GM increased pricing for the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD by $1,000 over the preceding 2022 model year.
Under the body panels, the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD rides on the more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform that underpins GM’s full-size SUVs and trucks. Production of the Chevy Silverado HD takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan, as well as the GM Oshawa plant in Canada.

Probably a Ploy to sell the remaining 22 models, as they Struggle to supply Chips, for the 22 & 23 models. I haven’t seen any Discounts on the “End of the year 22 Close-outs”. So No discounts, Up price of 23, & force sales of the 22, while they play Catch-up! Damn Giant ugly front ends & hoods, no one can see over; I’ll never buy one! I’ll hang onto my 16 model [1500], with it’s Many, blind spots, that my 98 model, Never had!

Keeping my 2015 until it falls out from under me. They name their price and as long as people keep paying it they are going to continue to arbitrarily raise it. I would rather push my 2015 than pay for a new overpriced vehicle of lesser value and reliability. Just my opinion.
Local dealer in Saginaw MI has 20 Denali 2500HD diesels on the lot. Didn’t even bother to stop to see if they are 22’s or 23’s because I’m still waiting on 1st of 3 chip retrofits after 1 full year of ownership of my 22 2500 AT4. Shame on you Mary Barra.
Sure, blame Mary for something she has no control over (chip shortage) and has accommodate based on the best and most strategic way of getting those chips in vehicles. But yeah, blame her if it makes you feel better…
I read the comments of “Commonsense”. In industry, business, or public service the CAO’s. or CEO’s, Presidents, or the Senior Generals in the Military, are in their positions to oversee the operations, providing leadership, and ensuring they have the right competent people in key positions. When mistakes happen there will be someone in the chain (of command) that failed in their execution of responsibilities. You can’t blame everything on Covid or the supply chain. It would have been more prudent on GM to ensure the products they are producing have all the necessary parts to begin with. For example it would be better to ensure the Cadillac SUV’s built in the USA are complete, and not begin building the Cady SUV in China. It appears in an attempt to expand production around the world, someone should have questioned if GM can actually service what they are selling. When failures happen, or unplanned increases in costs continually occur, it is because of poor planning or execution. The person in charge (CAO/CEO/President/General) is the one accountable. Errors should not be ignored, but corrected with new leadership.

Ordered 2022 2500HD and 2022 F250 November 2021. 2500HD arrived in January 2022. F250 still not here after 13 months. New 2023 2500HD is $6800 higher today than what I paid in January. “New” 2022 F250 is $2900 more than when I ordered 13 months ago. Local bank was 2.99% in January 2022. Now it’s 7.99%.
