2023 Cadillac Escalade Gets New Argent Silver Metallic Paint: First Look

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade and extended-length Escalade ESV add three new exterior colors to their palette: Dark Emerald Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Argent Silver Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Silver hue.

Assigned RPO code GXD and touch-up paint code WA-130H, Argent Silver Metallic is one of nine exterior colors offered on the full-size luxury SUV, which include:

Crystal White Tricoat
Mahogany Metallic
Galactic Gray Metallic
Black Raven
Sandstone Metallic
Dark Moon Blue Metallic
Dark Emerald Metallic (new for 2023)
Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
Argent Silver Metallic (new for 2023)

The Argent Silver Metallic color adds an additional $625 to the vehicle’s price and is available on all trim levels. It can be combined with all Escalade interior colorways. And, as GM Authority was first to report earlier this year, Argent Silver Metallic is also available on the supercharged Escalade-V.

For reference, here are all six available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Escalade:

One of the most noteworthy updates for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade is the debut of the high-performance 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V, a new high-performance variant of the best-selling luxury SUV that stuffs the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine under the hood. Output is rated at 682 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 653 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm, enabling the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

As for the rest of the Cadillac Escalade lineup, engine options include the standard naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm, and the optional 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 277 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. Both engines connect to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

Under the skin, the fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade rides on the GM T1 platform, with an independent rear suspension setup introduced in conjunction with the 2021 model year overhaul. Production of the 2023 Escalade kicked off at the GM Arlington plant in Texas on July 18^th, 2022 and the online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Escalade.
