2023 Buick Enclave Hood Insulation Retrofit Under Way

As GM Authority previously covered back in September, some units of the 2023 Buick Enclave were built without hood insulation. Now, we have learned that a dealer-installed retrofit has been made available.

Owners of affected vehicles can now have dealers retrofit the hood insulation per a new GM customer satisfaction program. To perform this task, dealers are instructed to order and install the hood insulators on-site and free of charge. It should take GM technicians a few minutes to complete the retrofit.

In total, there were 15 models across three GM brands that were shipped without the hood insulation and thus impacted by this customer satisfaction program:

It’s worth noting that this program expires December 31st, 2025. Affected owners can find more information regarding this retrofit by using the GM program code N222379652.

Previously, certain units of the 2023 Buick Enclave were identified with RPO code R8V, indicating a constraint for underhood insulators.

As a reminder, the 2023 Buick Enclave is powered by the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline, which is rated at 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Transmission choices are limited to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, which pairs with FWD as standard or AWD as an option.

As for structure, the Enclave rides on the GM C1 platform, while production began at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan on June 11th.
