1,000-Horsepower Hennessey C7 Corvette ZR1 Brings The Noise: Video

Even completely bone stock, the C7 Corvette ZR1 is an absolutely raucous machine, doling out more than 750 supercharged horsepower. Now, however, Hennessey Performance is turning the dial up to 11 with its 1,000-horsepower Corvette ZR1 upgrade package, as featured in the following brief video.
Clocking in at a little over two minutes, the video is simple and to the point, highlighting the upgraded C7 Corvette ZR1 as it blasts around Hennessey’s test track at full throttle. No narration, no video hosts, just the ZR1 doing what it does best with four-digit output under the hood.
For those readers who may be unaware, the C7 Corvette ZR1 is equipped with the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT5 gasoline engine, which is rated from the factory at 755 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 715 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. That’s a lot, but, as is often the case, those that want more can turn to Hennessey for an extra dollop of go-juice.
Dubbed the HPE1000 package, Hennessey’s top upgrade for the C7 Corvette ZR1 includes a comprehensive list of performance parts, such as a new high-flow induction system, a Hennessey lower pulley upgrade, a custom camshaft, and ported cylinder heads. The valvetrain is upgraded as well, and incorporates new valves, new valve springs and retainers, and upgraded lifters and pushrods. Spent gasses exit via long-tube stainless steel headers, stainless steel midpipes, and high-flow catalytic converters.
Put it all together with professional installation and some chassis dyno tuning, and the final numbers ring to the tune of 1,000 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 966 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm, a gain of 245 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque over the stock setup. To handle it all, the HPE1000 package also includes an upgrade for the GM eight-speed automatic transmission.
Critically, Hennessey will toss in a three-year / 36,000-mile warranty as well, while the car’s upgraded performance is marked by a serial-numbered engine bay plaque and exterior badging.
