Supercharged 1966 Chevy Nova Is A Street Screamer: Video

It’s always interesting to see what a builder prioritizes when making something custom, whether it’s looks, performance, comfort, or maybe something else entirely. This particular 1966 Chevy Nova, for example, appears to keep most of the old-school style intact, with a relatively simple exterior and interior treatment. However, open it up a bit, and it quickly becomes obvious that this thing is all about straight-line speed.

Outside, this 1966 Chevy Nova looks sleek thanks to black paint and chrome detailing. Although it isn’t a true SS, it does include some SS badging, while the large cowl hood hints at the power on tap. In the corners is a set of Billet Specialty wheels, sized at 15-inches by 4-inches in front, and 15-inches by 8-inches in the rear, with 255/60R15 drag radials for the stick (or smoke).

The cabin space is pretty basic, with highlights including a digital screen on the A-pillar to keep tabs on vitals, plus a Dakota Digital readout behind the wheel and B&M Performance hammer shifter on the tunnel.

“I like it classic looking, but still the modern touches,” the owner states.

Speaking of modern touches, this ’66 Chevy Nova is now running a supercharged V8 engine throwing down with some impressive firepower. Highlights include a cast-iron 6.0L block stuffed with beefy internals, topped by LS3 heads and an LSA supercharger adding in 14 pounds of boost. The setup is also running flex fuel and a Holley computer. A fully built 4L80 four-speed automatic transmission with 4.10 rear gears harnesses the go, with peak output measured at 700 horsepower at the wheels.

According to the owner, the last time this Chevy Nova was at the track was the recent LS Fest event in Vegas, where it managed to post a 10.30-second run in the quarter mile. However, the owner states that the car was only running on seven cylinders at the time, and was having some transmission issues as well. Under ideal conditions, this Chevy Nova is expected to run a 9.50.

All told, this thing positively screams. Check it out in the feature video below:
