Six months after the regional unveiling of the refreshed compact crossover during a special event in Colombia, and the model’s subsequent introduction in Brazil, General Motors has just officially launched the 2023 Chevy Equinox in Argentina.
The automaker launched the refreshed 2023 Chevy Equinox in Argentina, positioning it as a “premium” crossover that will compete at the top of the C-segment with a refreshed design and the most comprehensive connectivity features in its class. In addition, the 2023 Equinox adopts the sporty RS variant and becomes the first Chevrolet crossover to offer such a trim level in the South American country.
As in Brazil, the 2023 Chevy Equinox reaches the Argentine market exclusively in the two range-topping trim levels: RS and Premier. This positioning of the Equinox limits its level of competitiveness against other competing models and also its sales volume in Argentina as in the rest of the South American countries, which together represent an auxiliary market for the compact crossover.
As such, the 2023 Chevy Equinox for Argentina has an exhaustive list of safety, technology and comfort features that make it stand out in its category. This includes a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), Chevrolet’s latest infotainment system with wireless smartphone projection, an on-board Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar’s advanced services as standard, as well as a panoramic roof and a Bose premium audio system for the Premier.
Mechanically, both 2023 Chevy Equinox variants are equipped with the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX engine that generates 172 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, mated exclusively to the GM six-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the standard all-wheel drivetrain offered in Brazil, the 2023 Equinox RS for Argentina includes a front-wheel drivetrain, while AWD is exclusive to the Premier.
The refreshed 2023 Chevy Equinox is now available for sale at the official Chevrolet dealer network in Argentina, with a three-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty. The Chevy Equinox units for the Argentine market are manufactured at the GM San Luis Potosà plant in Mexico, responsible for supplying the entire American continent. These are the prices of the 2023 Equinox in Argentina, impacted by high internal taxes:
- 2023 Equinox RS: 9,936,900 ARS (about $63,200 at the current exchange rate)
- 2023 Equinox Premier: 10,800,900 ARS ($68,700)
