If you have an old car that’s been sitting around for a while and looks like it’s trashed, you may be tempted to simply write it off as a lost cause. However, with the right tools and some time, even the nastiest of rides can be brought back from the dead, as is demonstrated by this video showing a moldy Buick Reatta getting its first detailing after sitting in the woods for 15 years.
Coming to us from the folks at WD Detailing out of Parma, Ohio, this video provides an in-depth look at what it takes to completely detail this extremely nasty-looking Buick Reatta. When the folks at WD pull it into the shop, the two-door is in pretty ratty condition – literally, in fact, as rodents have infested this thing with more than a few rats nets. The exterior is covered in dirt, mold, and moss, with a thick layer of dried leaves and branches filling all the crevices. Just about everything looks rotted and deteriorated.
However, even in its extra-unpleasant condition, this Buick Reatta isn’t anything the folks at WD Detailing can’t handle. First things first, the crew grabs the heavy-duty vacuum and starts sucking up all the loose debris, plant material, and rodent leftovers, including nuder the hood. Next, the exterior is thoroughly cleaned with soap and water, washing away a decade and a half of dirt and grime to reveal the paint work underneath. Some of the paint has chipped off, which isn’t all that surprising given its original condition, but it still looks much, much better.
The crew also go under the hood, applying a light degreaser and going at the components with soft-bristle brushes before spraying it all down with water.
The interior of this Buick Reatta is just as bad as the exterior, so the crew opt to remove the seats for better access to upholstery. The crew also opt to swap in new(er) seats, as the old seats look gross, to say the least.
All in all, it’s satisfying to see this thing go from disaster to clean at the hands of WD Detailing. Check out the full detailing video below:

One thing to be careful of on a Reatta is getting water in the cross car harness under the seats. Corrosion in that harness causes all sorts of electronic falfunctions.
Why?
Can almost smell that car through my tablet. Disgusting.
What a waste of a good car and it has a reliable 3800 too
