Here’s When The 2023 Chevy Colorado Configurator Will Be Available

The official 2023 Chevy Colorado online configurator will soon go live on Chevy’s website, GM Authority has learned from sources close to the matter, providing prospective buyers with an opportunity to spec a Colorado to their liking. The configurator is expected to be available on December 15th 2022.

With the launch of the configurator, shoppers will have the ability to explore the Colorado’s trims, options, body styles and packages. Pricing will also be made available at that time.

The 2023 Chevy Colorado introduces numerous updates and changes over the 2022 model, including bold exterior styling and a revised interior. Notably, the lineup will now include a standalone Trail Boss trim. On previous model years, the Trail Boss was sporadically offered as an option package.

As for powerplant options, the 2023 Chevy Colorado will receive one engine block, but in three different states of tune. The turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R engine is rated at 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and is standard on the Work Truck and LT trims. Originally introduced for the 2019 Chevy Silverado and 2019 GMC Sierra, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine develops 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque in 2.7L Turbo Plus tune, and is standard on the Z71 and Trail Boss, while optional for WT and LT. Finally, the High-Output version of the L3B engine produces 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, and will be the standard engine for the Colorado ZR2.

A second-generation GM eight-speed automatic, which received a host of improvements, will serve as the only transmission option.

As GM Authority covered earlier this year, the 2023 Chevy Colorado will begin production on January 25th, 2023 at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri, and the order banks are now open. This assembly plant is currently building the last units of the 2022 Chevy Colorado and 2022 GMC Canyon, with production slowly winding down before it tooling updates begin for the next-gen trucks. Production of the current Colorado and Canyon models has already been extended two months from the original production end date of October, with manufacturing set to end by next December.

An interesting development to note, production of the 2023 Chevy Colorado ZR2 will kick off in April, taking place several months after other model variants.

Under the skin, the Colorado and Canyon will ride an updated version of the GMT 31XX platform.

  10. Anyone know the MPG ratings for the engine/drivetrain combos yet?

    1. GM hasn’t peeped. A 2.7 2wd Silverado is rated at 19/22. Being lighter, it should improve that city milage to 20. A current 4wd Colorado is rated for 24hwy. Potential for 25 there.

    1. A High Country Colorado would be nice as long it is not a black interior. Need to go with the GMC Canyon Denali.

  14. According to the order guide you can opt for the high output tune on LT and above. not stuck with the lower tunes on anything lower than a ZR2

  15. It would be nice if they had a Chevrolet Colorado had a High Country trim because that will make the truck a Mid-Size Luxury truck, and I think it would be a popular trim to get.
