The 2023 Chevy Colorado introduces an all-new third generation for the pickup, with General Motors officially pulling the sheets this past July. Now, GM Authority has learned when GM will open order banks for the latest 2023 Colorado.
According to sources familiar with the matter, order banks for the 2023 Chevy Colorado will open on November 10th, 2022. This includes the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT, LT, Trail Boss, and Z71 trim levels, but not the ZR2, which will go into production at a later date.
Per GM Authority’s exclusive coverage published over the summer, production of the 2023 Chevy Colorado will kick off on January 25th of the 2023 calendar year. Production will once again take place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri, which also produces the 2022 Chevy Colorado, the GMC Canyon, the Chevy Express, and the GMC Savana. The report follows earlier coverage that production of the 2022 Chevy Colorado would be extended by two months, with the 2022-model-year originally slated to end production this past October. As it stands now, production of the 2022 Chevy Colorado will in fact end this coming December.
Looking ahead, GM Authority has also learned that production of the 2023 Chevy Colorado ZR2 will kick off in April of the 2023 calendar year, several months after the start of production for other model variants in January.
The 2023 Chevy Colorado debuts a long list of changes and updates, including new exterior styling, as well as an overhauled interior. The lineup also offers the new Trail Boss trim level, whereas previously, customers were offered the Trail Boss as a package upgrade, rather than a standalone trim.
Under the hood, the 2023 Chevy Colorado features the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine as the exclusive powertrain option. Output varies between trim levels, with three distinct levels of tune available – 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque from the 2.7L Turbo tune, 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque from the 2.7L Turbo Plus tune, and finally, 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque from the 2.7L Turbo High-Output tune. The second-gen GM 8-speed automatic transmission provides the cog swaps, while under the skin is an updated version of the GMT 31XX platform.

Pricing?
Just saw the order guide was available. Printing it off now. Let me know if anyone has questions and I’ll do my best to answer them!
Can you share a copy?
Sure what’s your email?
not sure the moderator will let me show my email.
Not sure how to share it with you then
Yeah- thanks anyway. I’ll get with a local dealer a some point.

You could try a google drive link shared into the chat.
Can you share base prices for different trims? Is the Canyon order guide also available?
No pricing in this order guide right now. We’re only a Chevy dealer so I only have access to Chevy order guides.
Can you give us pricing details.
No pricing is in the order guide. I’ll keep looking to see if I find anything. I will say the one biggest disappointment on this is the lack of available features on the Trail Boss. I was really hoping Bose would be available but doesn’t look like you can even get a telescopic steering wheel. It really is just a WT with a lift and fender flares.
Ok thanks for the info . Little disappointing I like the boss look
That perfect!!! I prefer a work truck’s inside appearance and pay less for the Trail Boss
If that’s what you’re looking for then this would be a great truck. Looks like you can get vinyl floor. If you want the towing packing you’ll be forced to get carpet. Also if you want any of the convenience package II, carpet is forced. My must haves are really just Bose, telescopic wheel, and lumbar, so it looks like I’ll be forced to go LT, Z71, or ZR2.
Any MPG figures for the engines/drivetrains?
Do any of the trim levels have heated/ventilated seats, head up display?
Ventilated seats was definitely available on the ZR2 and I think Z71. No heads up available at all across the lineup. I’ll look again Monday.
Thanks!
Alright I did confirm this morning that only the ZR2 and Z71 have the option to add ventilated seats. They’re calling it the Convenience Package III.
Does the LT come configurable with the 300+ HP motor?
It does, I’ll have to look when I’m at work Monday to see what’s required. If I recall correctly when you add the trailering package it’s required to go to the 2.7 Plus. I also thought it mentioned 4LT as the required trim instead of 2LT. 2LT and 4LT are the only LT trims I noticed.
Just looked this morning. So the LT comes standard with the 2.7 Turbo @ 237hp. You can upgrade to the 2.7 Turbo Plus bringing it to 310hp/391lb ft/t. I’m not sure of the difference, but I am seeing two different transmissions. With the base engine the 8 speed RPO code is N8R, with the Turbo Plus it’s MFC.

Is there LED/HID headlight options for Trail Boss trim? Or are we actually stuck with incandescent bulb 😮
Yeah… no led option for the Trail Boss. Just looked back through the order guide again and doesn’t even look like you can get factory heated seats. Maybe they’re banking on people buying that truck and using third party parts for all modifications. Really disappointed in the Trail Boss trim.
Hi there,
Would you mind sharing a copy of the order guide with me please?
Thanks in advance.
I just got off the phone with GM they are saying order banks aren’t open yet. It’s the 13th of December. Local dealers are saying the trucks wont be in stock until fall 23. makes no sense because the 24’s come out in the fall.
Not sure who you talked to at GM. If it’s customer service they don’t know anything in most all cases. I’ve been able to get in the order bank and place orders since this post was put up. We have not yet received an allocation for a truck yet.
As for being available in Fall 23, we’ve received nothing from GM stating that’s the case.
Yes I did talk to GM customer service. Dealers in my area of Massachusetts have one vehicle in allocation and they’ve been spoken for. I’m going to check with dealers over the boarder in Rhode island.
I’ll bet the base price is up by a considerable amount seeing as the ext cab is eliminated which is dumb
If they go too high the new Ranger will work.
Show me a single cab for the average working man. Not a mall queen.
I expect an increase but not as much as the GMC as it will lack some of the options of the GMC X model.
The lack of Extended cab is not going to cost much as the prices were not that much different between cabs.
If you get the truck loaded up with sun roof and other things I expect it will be over $50K. But with the base truck $45K. That is my guess. Chevy is the value leader and they sold a ton of ZR2 models with the better price.
Rangers are not the answer as they have been priced a bit higher than the GM trucks with less content already. Also if and when the Raptor arrives I expect a similar $60K price as the AT4X.
There will still be a work truck but it is a Chevy and a crew. But you will still get a good engine vs the base low power non turbo we had.
Keep in mind many of you all were begging for better interiors, better suspensions, more content and sun roofs. Well that is here now and as I warned it will cost you more.
When will orders for the ZR2 open?
Wonder when we can start building them online
Has anyone heard if the Order Guide for the GMC Canyon is out yet?
It is
Does it offer electronic folding side mirrors? Would help parking in my garage a TON.
I chatted with a Chevrolet rep today she said ordering will not take place until early next year .I said but GM Authority said Nov 10th.She replied GM Authority is not a reliable place for info.So who is right and who is wrong .In any case she sent me the online order reference guide but no prices available .
I can’t find anything in the order guide mentioning power folding mirrors.
There is no option for power folding mirrors only adjustable and heated.
Well I guess this is delayed?
As far as I can tell this story is false.
You still cannot order one at this time.
Bad information.
You can order one. I can go in and build a truck and enter it in the order bank. It won’t get picked up until we receive an allocation in consensus. No telling when that will be. I would say it’s more of a clickbait headline than it is a false story.
I ordered my Trail Boss yesterday. My dealer was allocated 1 and I was able to snag it. I’m happy to answer any questions.
What equipment groups and color did you end up going with?
I went with the trailering package, rubber mats,Evotex interior instead of cloth. (The above poster is correct, you must get carpet with the trailer package) the 18 inch black wheels and the technology package, and convenience package 2 In Sand Dune metallic. There seems to be much reporting that the TB sits between the Z71 and ZR2, but the trims are WT>Trail Boss>LT>Z71>ZR2. The trail boss is really a work truck with 4×4 standard as well as the lift, suspension, and the turbo plus engine tune. I expect it to be under 40k.
what about the canyon order date?
Went to order a Z71. Everything went well except the leathers seat aren’t available yet. Does anyone have an idea when they will be available.
does anyone know if the turbo plus tune is 91+ octane ?
Any idea if there will be a trail cruise control feature?
Any updates on when we can order the 2023 Colorado ZR2?
Does the 2023 Colorado ZR2 have heads up display? Front camera?
