The refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 features front end design changes and a new cabin offered on all but the Pro model. Note, that for 2022, the former “Sierra” base model is now the Pro model. Besides the all-new interior, perhaps the biggest news for 2022 was the announcement of the new range-topping 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate and introduction of the all-new 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X. As a reminder, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited was a stop-gap measure till the refreshed model could be built, and even introduced a few changes of its own over the 2021 models.
In addition, a mandatory three-year OnStar and Connected Services plan has been added to all Sierra trim levels, its price ranging from $905 to $1,500.
The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 introduces only a handful of changes and updates as compared to the full model refresh introduced for the 2022 model year. One of those includes availability of a new Graphite Edition package on the base Sierra Pro. The big news for 2023 is the debut of the first-ever 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV Edition, which promises to push the capability of the new go-anywhere AT4X trim level to new heights. Simply put, the 2023 Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition is the most off-road capable factory Sierra 1500 ever, developed with input from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) like on the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and first-ever 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison.
Later on in the 2023 model year, the “standard” 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X will receive new equipment from the AEV Edition. Also for 2023, the price increased by $1,000 over the 2022 on every trim level except for the Denali Ultimate and AT4, which have received respective price increases of $900 and $1,900.
Production of the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 kicked off at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana on August 20th, 2022, and at the GM Silao plant in Mexico on August 29th, 2022, for both Regular Cab and Crew Cab models, and on September 6th, 2022, for Double Cab models. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Sierra 1500.

GM Trucks Less Safe Than Others, According To Consumer Reports
Due to their low braking and emergency handling scores.
GMC Sierra Discount Reaches $6,000 In September 2024
Plus, low-interest financing and no payments for 90 days.
The old raise the price of the truck by $5000 and then offer a rebate for $2500 to make consumers feel like they are getting a bargain. Isnt going to work Mary.
Wouldn’t hurt to include the qualification in the headline, “for current owners of 2008 or newer GM vehicles.”
The way I read it, when looking at GMC’s website, this only applies to the 2.7L, and its for current owners of a GMC or Buick.
Does me no good since I ordered a 3.0 Duramax and currently have a 2010 Silverado.
Is purchase offer for buying the truck without financing or can it be combined with the finance offer?
Good question. My guess is that you can use both incentives if you qualify. They make money off of the finance deal either way.
The $2500 purchase allowance can be combined with the 3.9% finance offer, but only if you are the current owner of a 2008 or newer Buick or GMC, or the lessee of a 2017 or newer Buick or GMC. Otherwise it is just the finance offer that will apply. And the financing + purchase allowance offer is only good on the 2.7L models.
All other models have a 4.69% finance offer, but no additional rebate/purchase allowance.
So they pull the 0% as the headlines from GM say “Build shy trucks are mostly complete and ready to ship”. Thanks for the past 6 month of an offer that could not be used due to no deliveries on truck purchased Jan 22. WTF Mary!
The 0% Apr financing was only for 36 months which would narrow down the pool of well qualified buyers to primarily cash buyers.
Rebate only applies to the 4 cylinder engine that few people want.
Looks like if you own a 2008 or newer you get the $2500. If you buy a 2.7L you get $1500. Because of the “package” wording it seems you may combine both (if you buy a 2.7L and own a 2008 or newer). I agree they will want to move the 2.7Ls so it makes sense for them to combine the offer.
If you don’t own a 2008 or newer and don’t buy a 2.7L then it seems like the only benefit offered in November is the interest rate or a lease option.
The 2.7Turbo is a great engine that consumers just need to drive and experience for themselves to make a decision before being so quick to write it off. 430 lb ft of torque at 3,000 rpm compared to 383 lb ft of torque at 4,100 rpm and tows slightly less than the at 8,800 lbs compared to 9,200 lbs with the 5.3 liter V-8 engine.
GM’s marketing team has a lot of experience in how to move these products. GM is now getting a lot of them built and they have to move them out in this new economy. GM being doing this trick for years. Go GM Go!!!
The 2.7 engine serves a good purpose. Most people don’t need to tow much, or very often. In short, many owners don’t use their truck like a truck. My nephew has a 2.7 in his Sierra. He occasionally tows about 4000 lbs and no more. The power train works for him. I have a 6k pound camper. I have a Duromax. That engine serves me perfectly. They offer 4 engines, for a reason. Now Onstar, that’s something to get ticked over.
I agree with your comments, just remember that the resale is impacted as well. So if the engine works for the buyer and they plan to keep it, then it’s a good deal.
Put money down on a $74,000 GMC 2500 truck that was supposed to arrive three weeks later when it was zero percent financing here it’s almost 2 months have past the truck still hasn’t come in now it’s November and there’s no incentives dealer says I can’t get my down payment back. GM needs to step up or step out. Take better care of your customers
That stinks, Tom. My dealer was very clear that the deposit locked my selling price but incentives (rebates, discounts, interest rates, etc.) would be whatever GMC offered at the time of purchase. Some guys are buying (like really paying for the truck) as soon as the VIN is available so they can retain incentives. I want to at least see the window sticker and find out what is missing. Seems crazy for such a significant purchase. Hope something improves for you.
I read this as any 2023 Sierra, regardless of motor, qualifies for the $2500 incentive if you own a 2008 or newer GM vehicle. Called my dealer and he says no….. Who’s right ??
It says own a 2008 or newer vehicle.. doesn’t say anything about a gmc vehicle and receive $2500 . I ordered the truck back in March and still haven’t got it. I planned on trading in my 2018 F150. I probably going to loose about $5000 on trade in value. Why aren’t we offered a decent compensation for the devalue of my current truck and the extremely long wait? Don’t even know when I will get my truck? Do they want to retain customers or don’t care. This current truck market probably won’t last forever. Then they will wonder why people won’t buy there vehicles again. Probably will want government to bail them out again. Come on gmc, treat new clients like you would want them to buy again.
