The 2022 GMC Savana represents the 19th model year of the nameplate. The full-size passenger and cargo vans both ride on the GM GMT 610 platform and offer identical powertrain options, which include the 4.3L V6 LV1 and 6.6L V8 L8T V8 gasoline engines along with the 2.8L I4 LWN turbo-diesel Duramax engine.

For the 2023 model year, the Savana and its corporate twin, the Chevy Express, will continue with minimal changes, although both will drop the optional turbo-diesel. Production of the 2023 Savana and Express began at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri on August 15th. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Savana.

The 2023 GMC Savana also gets a substantial price increase over the 2022 model. For the 20th model year for the workhorse van, this price hike is applied across the board in terms of body configuration and powertrain, and includes a $100 increase to the destination freight charge (DFC), which is now up to $1,795 from $1,695.

The Savana and Express will likely be put to pasture at the end of the 2025 model year with all-electric replacements rumored for a 2026 debut.
