The GM Authority Take

After establishing its best performance in recent history in September, GM Mexico sales were once again in the green in October thanks to another massive near triple-digit increase. Last month’s performance continues to strengthen GM’s positive commercial performance in the Mexican market, where it accumulates seven consecutive months of gains while  itself as the automaker with the highest sales in the country.

GM Mexico achieved this new increase in October despite the sharp drop suffered by the Chevy Aveo, which usually leads GM’s local sales. Six other Chevrolet nameplates were able to compensate for the Aveo’s drop. Once again, the Chevy Onix led the overall performance with a massive five-digit increase, once again positioning itself as the company’s best-selling vehicle in the country. The Chevy Groove, S10 Max, Tornado Van and Tracker also stood out with significant increases year-over-year, recording over 1,000 deliveries each.

Chevy Groove

In addition, the healthy increases of the three Cadillac nameplates offered in Mexico stand out with positive performance, both during the month and in the first ten months of the 2022 calendar year.

Chevy S10 Max

By contrast, the locally-built Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra half-ton full-size pickups suffered large declines in sales volumes due to a notable decline in the availability inventory in the Mexican market.
