First GMC Hummer EV Pickup Lands In The U.K.

The GMC Hummer EV is both massive and massively appealing. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that the vehicle’s appeal stretches well beyond U.S. shores, and now, enthusiasts in the U.K. are getting their first taste of the all-electric supertruck thanks to specialist auto retailer Clive Sutton.

Based in London, Clive Sutton has offered U.K. buyers a variety of high-end American and European vehicles for more than 30 years, including both production vehicles and tuned / customized vehicles as well. One of the latest additions to the company’s repertoire is the GMC Hummer EV, the first example of which just landed on British shores.

“As soon as the GMC Hummer EV was announced our customers have been desperate to see the model in the U.K.,” said founder and CEO Clive Sutton. “Now that we have imported the first one, we anticipate orders outstripping supply as buyers clamor to be among the first in Europe to own this electric supertruck.”

As GM Authority has covered in the past, production of the GMC Hummer EV is ramping up at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, with 750 units built in September alone, representing nearly 30 percent of all Hummer EV production so far (2,570 units produced as of the end of September). Even so, demand for the GMC Hummer EV far outstrips supply, which means prices for any unclaimed units is quite high indeed.

Add in international shipping costs, VAT duty, local registration fees, and vehicle conformity testing, U.K. customers should expect to shell out 320,000 pounds ($357,058 at current exchange rates, 11/3/2022) for a new GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 Pickup sold through Sutton.

For the money, buyers can expect a 1,000-horsepower off-roader good for about 350 miles of range between plugs, and capable of sprinting to 60 mph in about 3 seconds. GM Ultium battery tech and GM Ultium drive motor tech provides the go, while the GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings.

Interested customers can contact Clive Sutton directly for more information.

  4. Are they going to make the effort to move the steering wheel to the right hand side?

A feat that even the smallest car maker seems to be able to do but seemingly impossible for the former largest car company in the world?

    1. The one pictured in the twitter post as “first in the UK” is still left hand drive.
It seems like it wouldn’t be too much trouble to build them right hand drive, seeing as it’s such a low volume speciality vehicle.
