Chevy Silverado MD-Based 2023 EarthRoamer SX Debuts At SEMA 2022

Outdoor enthusiasts that love to get away while bringing all the comforts of home along for the ride may be interested in the new Chevy Silverado MD-based 2023 EarthRoamer SX overlander, which just debuted at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Given its Chevy Silverado 6500HD bones, it should come as no surprise that the 2023 EarthRoamer SX is positively massive, measuring in at 34 feet in overall length, 8 feet in overall width, and 12 feet in overall height. Of course, those eye-widening dimensions provide some rather generous capacities and interior room, with this rig providing enough space to comfortably accommodate up to six people.

The Chevy Silverado MD-based 2023 EarthRoamer SX incorporates a vacuum-infused carbon fiber body offering multiple floor plans, with layouts that include a living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and dining room. There’s also plenty of ambient lighting thanks to the frameless, flush-mounted glass windows, while an 18,000-watt lithium ion battery handles the power needs. Up top is a massive 1,600-watt solar array for on-the-go charging. There’s even an optional washer and dryer unit.

Naturally, the capacities on this thing are equally impressive, with the EarthRoamer SX carrying upwards of 100 gallons of diesel, 120 gallons of fresh water, and 55 gallons of grey water.

A for the mechanical specs, this Chevy Silverado 6500HD-based overlander is motivated by the 6.6L V8 L5D turbodiesel Duramax engine, which EarthRoamer is rating at 350 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. Output is directed to the four-wheel-drive system by way of the Allison six-speed automatic transmission, while the rig rolls on 43-inch military-grade Goodyear tires mounted on beadlock wheels. Notably, no special licensing is required to operate this vehicle.

As for off-road capability, the 43-inch tires are paired with air ride suspension that can independently raise and lower each wheel, plus King off-road shocks, heavy-duty anti-sway bars. There’s also extensive LED exterior lighting, and Warn winches front and rear.

The 2023 EarthRoamer SX is built in Colorado and each units is custom-made to order. Pricing starts at $995,000.
