The GM Authority Take

Not only were Chevrolet Korea sales in the green during October, they also represented a higher growth rate compared to the four percent increase in September. In fact, those September results represented Chevy’s first positive monthly performance in 18 months in the local market, making October the second consecutive month of sales gains. Additionally, the 63 percent increase is equivalent to slightly over 1,500 more sales during the month on an annual basis.

The Bow Tie brand’s strong performance in South Korea during October was fueled by healthy increases in sales of the Chevy Trailblazer and Colorado, as well as incremental sales gains from the all-electric Chevy Bolt range, which are seeing an outstanding level of acceptance in the Asian country. In fact, the Trailblazer posted its first sales increase in months, solidifying its position as the brand’s best-selling vehicle, as well as the only one with a four-figure uptick.

However, it was the Chevy Bolt EUV that recorded the biggest impact on the brand’s overall surge in October, setting a new sales record of 908 deliveries. This enabled the Bolt EUV to overtake the Chevy Spark as Chevrolet’s second most popular model in October. In addition, this result is one of the highest figures that an imported vehicle has been able to achieve in the South Korean market in the history of GM Korea.
