The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Argentina sales again outperformed the Argentine automotive market with a notable increase in October. In fact, Chevy posted the second highest sales growth in the country during the month.

Last month’s remarkable recovery continues the Bow Tie brand’s growth, representing the marque’s sixth consecutive monthly increase in the South American country.

As was the case in prior months, Chevy Argentina’s solid performance during October was supported by considerable double and triple digits increases of the Chevy Cruze and Onix, respectively. Both models had the most significant increases as they were Chevy’s first- and second best-selling models in the Argentine market. In fact, the Onix doubled its sales volume year-over-year, while the Cruze nearly returned to posting four-digit sales in its home country.

It’s also worth highlighting the solid performance of the Chevy Tracker and two other low-volume models – the Spin and Equinox. The Tracker subcompact crossover is now built locally at the GM Alvear plant, but the primary destination of the locally-made Tracker will be export markets, meaning that its sales volume is not expected to increase significantly in Argentina.
