The Cadillac Escalade is currently in its fifth generation, previously introducing a full model overhaul for the 2021 model year. Mixing style, opulence, and luxury, the Escalade is certainly quite desirable, and as such, it should come as no surprise that the SUV was the top most-considered luxury-brand vehicle in Q3 of the 2022 calendar year.
According to the recent Kelley Blue Book Brand Watch report from Cox Automotive, the Cadillac Escalade’s designation as the most-shopped luxury vehicle in Q3 of 2022 marks its third straight quarter as the top entry in the most-considered luxury models list. The Buick Enclave takes the second-place position on the list, followed by the Tesla Model 3, BMW 3 Series, and Acura MDX to round out the top five.
The report notes that consideration for the Cadillac Escalade softened somewhat in Q3, but not enough to knock it from the top spot. The report also notes that quarterly consideration for the Luxury SUV segment held steady at 67 percent between quarters, but was down slightly from 69 percent consideration recorded during the same timeframe last year. Meanwhile, quarterly segment consideration for luxury cars fell from 54 percent to 53 percent between Q2 and Q3, but was up from 49 percent during the same timeframe last year.
Among the factors driving luxury vehicle consideration in Q3, durability / reliability remained the most-important at 80 percent, with safety in second place at 73 percent. Driving comfort was third at 69 percent. Meanwhile, driving performance, affordability, and fuel efficiency all saw considerable gains in importance, rising to 66 percent, 56 percent, and 52 percent, respectively. Technology, ruggedness, and prestige / sophistication also saw rises in importance, up to 47 percent, 27 percent, and 23 percent, respectively.
With regard to quarterly brand consideration, BMW secured the top spot at 22 percent, up from 21 percent in Q2 of 2022. Lexus was second at 17 percent, while Cadillac was third, also at 17 percent.
As a reminder, the Cadillac Escalade offers two engine options, namely the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine and 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. Under the body panels is the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
