Buick Envista Would Get Avenir Trim Level In North America

Just last month, GM Authority exclusively reported that the Buick Envista was under consideration for the North American market. Now, we have further exclusive information to share, this time regarding a possible Buick Envista Avenir trim level.
According to sources close to the matter, GM will offer an up-level Avenir trim for the Buick Envista if The General decides to ship the crossover to the North American market. For now, Buick offers the range-topping Avenir trim for the Buick Envision and Buick Enclave crossovers in the U.S. market.
For those readers who may be unaware, Buick’s Avenir trim level is similar to the Denali sub-brand at GMC, offering a more luxurious, well-equipped option for buyers interested in a fully loaded vehicle. Standout features typically include an exclusive finish, unique alloy wheel designs, and upgraded interior trim.
Critically, GM Authority previously reported that the refreshed 2024 Buick Encore GX would offer an Avenir trim level as well. As such, it makes sense that the Buick Envista would also offer an Avenir trim if GM does decide to bring the crossover to the North American market.
At present, the Buick Envista is sold in China in four trim levels, listed from bottom to top as Enjoy, Smart, GS, and GS+. Specs include a turbocharged 1.5L I4 gasoline engine rated at 181 horsepower, connected to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Under the body panels, the Buick Envista rides on a new variant of the GM VSS-F vehicle set, the same underpinnings as the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax.
Earlier this year, Buick revealed that its North American product lineup would include four ICE-powered crossover models, with the Buick Encore set for discontinuation after the 2022 model year. Looking ahead, it’s possible the Buick Envista may be sold as an indirect replacement for the Encore.

This is what is wrong with GM management, they are putzing around with thinking about adding trim levels while they lack models that are competitive in the marketplace. They get rid of one of their best-selling models , the encore which served as an entry level product and they still don’t have anything competitive to compete against all the Korean and Japanese brands in the low end marketplace . I really wonder how the GM stockholders allow their management and directors to stay in place
Keep the Chinese built products in China, GM. Why do you keep sending Americans’ dollars to enrich the Chinese communist government?!
GM makes money from China & most importantly uses those profits for R&D that allow for higher US margins. SAIC is government owned but their cut of profits aren’t “making Chinese government rich” because this money gets reinvested in the firms various brands (MG, Roewe) as well as the GM joint venture.
GM is in for bankruptcy if China takes Taiwan. The risk of further deteriorating US-Chinese relations should be factored into GM stock price. With GM Europe gone General Motors would be an Americas only OEM probably destination to either partner or merge with Honda.
I just don’t feel this car. It has that androgynous look of a Tesla.
As for option packages like Avenir they are where the real money is made. Higher trim levels are the real money makers while base level trims are just cash flow.
Buick has become Pontiac. GM is tuning it for China but they have no idea what to do with it in America.
They tried to be the car and wagon division. No one bought them. They are doing ok with the SUV but fitting them in with Chevy, GMC, and Cadillac is difficult, expensive for all they sell.
They hint at the EV models as taking chances. Well that might work but will they actually do that.
My local Pontiac GMC was offered Buick to replace Pontiac and they refused. They are doing great as GMC only. They have no regrets passing on Buick.
Most MFG have a main line and a Luxury line just two divisions anymore the old Sloan era of many divisions are long gone.
VW is the only one really doing many divisions but most are high dollar models that can live at low volume.
It’s not just VW. Stellantis is doing multiple divisions, too. So is GM in China.
I agree that Envista design is bulbus & lacks imagination. They ruined Buick’s sharp daytime running lights and the car looks budget from 2007.
If GM promoted the Buick Regal, Regal GS and Regal tourX they may of had a chance at success. I wanted a Buick REgal GS AWD in 2020 and I couldn’t find one. My Mother loves her 2018 Buick Regal. She wants to trade it after four years of carefree driving…. What can she buy in GM as an AWD sedan ? Only Cadillac CT4 and CT5. She doesn’t like Cadillac (never has). What does she buy? She wants to buy from an American company…. GM pushing customers away into the japanese, south koreans or Germans!
Is that the Regal made in Germany that shares chassis with the final Saab 95?
Is it well maintained and in good shape? I’d be interested in it. Please contact me. Feel free to send pics.
Why not call it the Regal? These made up names are weak.
It also needs a styling flourish to look more Buick-y and upscale. Portholes?
Buick designer phone it in? This is uninspired as it come.
lol.
Why the camo? No novelty there. Will look like almost everything else on the road. So they can badge engineer to Holden, Suzuki, Daewoo, etc? What is an Avenir?
