Every automaker has been grappling with part constraints for some time now, GM included. Now, GM Authority has learned that yet another 22-inch wheel set for the 2023 GMC Yukon is currently unavailable to order in conjunction with the vehicle.
This time, it’s the 22-inch Multi-spoke Gloss Black wheels (RPO code SGM) that are currently unavailable to order. The 2023 Yukon now has a total of five 22-inch LPO wheel options under constraint (relevant pricing and RPO code in parenthesis):
- 22-inch Bright Chrome wheels ($3,695, SF1)
- 22-inch Multi-spoke Chrome wheels ($3,695, SF2)
- 22-inch Multi-spoke Gloss Black wheels ($2,995, SGM)
- 22-inch Multi-spoke Chrome wheels ($3,695, SSI)
- 22-inch Multi-split spoke Chrome wheels ($3,695, SSW)
For a quick refresher, LPO wheels are shipped to the dealership to be installed on the vehicle instead of being fitted directly at the assembly plant. In the meantime, the vehicle is shipped on placeholder steel wheels, and is spec’d from the factory in the proper alignment measurements. These placeholder wheels are then shipped back to GM after installation of the LPO wheels.
As previously mentioned, this recent setback follows prior constraints. Just a few months ago, GM Authority reported that several 22-inch wheel options for the 2023 GMC Yukon were unavailable to order, notably the SF1, SF2, SSI and SSW wheels.
As a reminder, the 2023 GMC Yukon is available with three different engine options, including the atmospheric 5.3L V8 L84 producing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the atmospheric 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine developing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine churning out 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Under the skin, the 2023 Yukon rides on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

GM is circling the drain. Now it’s unavailability of wheels for the Yukon! Where does this all end? Coming from a Logistics background, it sounds like an inability to manage suppliers and a poor shipping process management to me. Not too late to step up Mary!
I agree 100%. Poor management shows once more.
