2023 Corvette Z06 VIN 001 Has Arrived At The Dealership

It can seem like a lifetime ago that GM officially announced the 2023 Corvette Z06. Unveiled last year, we’ve since been anxiously waiting for the high-performance sports car to hit dealership lots and public roads. Now, we can rejoice, as the first production C8 Corvette Z06 has finally arrived at a dealer.

This 2023 Z06 sports VIN 001, and was delivered to Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet. As exciting as this is, it’s important to note that this particular Z06 is not for sale. Owner Rick Hendrick purchased this unit for $3.6M at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction on January 29th 2022. Notably, Hendrick also secured the first-ever production 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 convertible.

Prospective buyers will be pleased to know that manufacturing of the Z06 has finally started. GM Authority reported earlier this month that first-ever production unit of the C8 Corvette Z06 recently rolled off the assembly line. This example was exceptionally optioned, wearing Carbon Flash Metallic paint and being equipped with the Z07 Performance Package as well as the 70th Anniversary Special Edition Package (RPO code Y70).

Additionally, GM is once again accepting 2023 Corvette Z06 dealer orders. Previously, GM said it would no longer take new Corvette Z06 orders for the remainder of the 2023 model year as a result of heavy production constraints.

As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 is powered by the naturally-aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine. This high-revving screamer churns out 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Under the skin is the GM Y2 platform that underpins all C8 Corvettes, while production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.
