2023 Chevy Silverado Gets New 22-Inch Black Wheels With Selective Machining

The 2023 Chevy Silverado introduces a few updates over the fully-refreshed 2022 Silverado. One of these changes is a new wheel option, which is now available to order on select trims.

This new wheel option for the 2023 Silverado 1500 consists of 22-inch Black wheels with selective machining (RPO Code SRL). These wheels are a $3,295 option on LT, RST, LTZ and High Country trim levels. Additionally, they are LPO, or dealer-installed wheels, meaning trucks will be fitted with four 22-inch steel wheels from the factory with alignment specs already set for the SRL wheels.

It’s worth noting that this new wheel option cannot be selected in conjunction with the Z71 Off-Road Package (Z71) or the Max Trailering Package (NHT). For the High Country specifically, these wheels require the Adaptive Ride Control (Z45) option, which in turn is part of the High Country Premium Package, which also includes a power sunroof and opens the availability door to the High Country Premium II Package.

The introduction of this new option comes follows limited availability of some other features on the Silverado 1500. As GM Authority previously reported, select units of the 2023 Silverado have been built without functional power outlets, with physical outlets still being installed on the trucks but do not provide power. Meanwhile, GM also imposed limited availability of wireless phone charging (K4C) on lower trims of the Silverado. These restrictions come as a result of supply constraints.

As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 is offered with four different powerplant options. These include the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, the atmospheric 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the atmospheric 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine. As covered previously, the 3.0L I6 LZ0 diesel engine replaces the 3.0L I6 LM2 diesel engine.

Beneath the body, Chevy’s full-size pickup rides on the GM T1 platform, which is shared with the 2023 GMC Sierra.

Production of the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 kicked off on August 29th, taking place at GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada. Silverado production at the GM Silao plant in Mexico was paused for a week, delaying the start of production from the originally-planned August 29th date.

  2. Buy aftermarket rims and save a buck and get rims that you choose and no one else has and suite your fancy.
If you are really in love with these rims you can buy them at the parts counter or search the web people sell them all the time for less than 2 large.

  6. who gets to keep the steel wheels it came from factory with? The buyer or the dealer?

    1. Neither. GM owns the wheels and they go back to the manufacturing plants.

If you want them, why don’t you buy them?

  7. They will be a nightmare to clean, there must be a hundred different surfaces to wipe.
