After General Motors revealed some interior details of the next-generation Chevy Montana in the latest episode of the web series dedicated to the model, new spy photos have just surfaced showing the cabin of Chevrolet‘s upcoming pickup truck.
The latest spy photos of the next-generation Chevy Montana published in Brazilian media show the vehicle’s cabin for the first time, offering a clearer idea of its appearance and layout. The Montana will be the third vehicle built on the GM Global Emerging Markets (GEM) platform after the second-generation Chevy Onix and the current Chevy Tracker.

In particular, these new spy photos showing the cabin of the next-generation Chevy Montana were posted on the Instagram account @mentirasautomotivas and reveal the partially camouflaged appearance of the model’s two rows of seats. In them, you can clearly see the direct kinship of the upcoming Montana with the Chevy Tracker, with which it will share a production line as well as many mechanical and aesthetic components.
The first spy photo of the next-generation Chevy Montana’s cabin shows a partial view of the front end, revealing the same seats as in the Tracker, an identical center console and steering wheel as the crossover, as well as the new panel that integrates the driver’s instrument cluster and the infotainment system’s touchscreen – which GM Authority first reported in August.
Meanwhile, the second spy photo gives the first preview of the next-gen Chevy Montana’s second-row seats. It shows a full bench with three headrests, a narrow rear door and limited legroom usual found in its category. However, it’s worth noting that in the photo, the front seats of the Montana prototype are fully moved back, located behind the B-pillar.
The next-generation Chevy Montana is expected to make its world debut early next year in Brazil, the nameplate’s country of origin and the primary region that developed the reimagined pickup. The upcoming Montana, which will have a unique double cab configuration, will begin production shortly at the GM São Caetano do Sul plant to supply the Brazilian market and other Latin American countries.

Meanwhile, the Maverick has closed it’s 2023 US order books; and GM does not think the US market, which loved the original S-10 and Ranger pickups, think there is no market for it here.
Sales books are closed as they don’t have the parts to build much.
Sales last year were 38k units and that is not much.
Ridge line is around 30k units
Also this is not the S10. It is not RWD and full frame.
Even with parts restrictions the mid size trucks easily out sell these things.
Use real numbers and understand under 100k units is not good.
I’d buy a Maverick at sticker price today if I could go down to the lot a do so. I’d put in an order if I could do so. I also know about 10 other people who absolutely would go and do the same thing if they could. None of us have tried to order one, as we are discouraged to do so because you basically can’t. If Ford Could build 150K Mavericks each year, stock the lots, and reign in dealer markups, I have no doubt in my mind they would easily sell them. By the way, probably the most important fact about myself and the 10 others: NONE of us are currently truck owners, or Ford customers. ARE YOU LISTENING GM/FORD?
Understand that your attempt to downplay is not good. Ford received 86,000 orders for the Maverick in a few days time, that’s why they had to shut down orders for ’23. But, yeah, no demand there…
Ridgeline is gigantic compared to the Maverick. It’s closer to a Colorado.
I think a truck this size would be a great addition to GM’s U.S. truck lineup. I owned a S10 and the GMC offering back in the day, and don’t understand why GM would want to surrender this segment to Ford and the imports.
It’s all about profit, not market share, however, unless it is an EV, there doesn’t seem to be much money left for new ICE development. GM going into EV all the way does have to do with market share. GM doesn’t want to be left behind when EV’s is the main stream. Right now it seems like it is nearly impossible that the ICE vehicles may go away but when Tesla had sold over 300,000 units for the last three years, every manufacture is taking notice. If the US market ever gets a new S-10, it’ll have a big battery.
Agreed, it comes down to money. But with GM’s current financial house being in the “red” … 10% to 15% of something,is far better than 100% of nothing, which is where they are right now. And to add to this thought they’d better ditch the idea for a three cylinder turbo and bring out a 2.5 four cylinder (non turbo) engine. To finish this thought … the American public has got to ditch high performance for high mpg, GM would do well to dust off their Malibu Hybrid drive train for this pickup.
Great question, why has GM surrendered the Jeep Wrangler market for all these years?
No one really had taken on jeep much as it was a limited market till a few years ago and it has taken off big time.
The others used the Blazer and Bronco to represent them but they were almost a different thing. Jeeps are more cultish.
Now today I think the segment is strong enough to support a similar model at GM.
The old Geo tracker was as close as we ever had at GM.
GM had all the market share in the world but they were not making money,.
Market share is great but you still have to make money at the end of the day. Being the largest Automaker in the world means nothing if you are going broke.
The Change to EV is not by free will as it is more about survival. None of them are doing it to save trees or because of Tesla Sales. It is a major expense and an difficult change but if you want to sell models you will have to meet the regulations.
ICE is not just going to vanish over night. Might note at GM vehicles like the Nox and Blazer are going to sell both EV and ICE models. GM has not given up on Ice. Also the new models that are coming out are not going to be cone for a number of years.
The trouble with this segment is so far no one has sold that many models. As more come into the segment it takes a small pie and cuts it into more pieces.
This model is not a S10. Now if they made a smaller truck like an S10 I think they could do ok with it but the trouble is there would be no money made.
In the past the S10 shared many parts with the RWD A body cars. If not parts they also shared engineering. Today nothing is shared. So they are trying these FWD CUV based truck and if you look at the production numbers from last year on each it is not a run away hit like some want you to think.
Ford is actually in the toilet financially. To this point the Maverick and Bronco are not bailing them out. The profits of the aluminum F150 are also down due to increased Aluminum cost.
Also remember reservations are not sales Ford is hiding dealer orders with the reserved customer orders so they are not reporting honest sales.
Does it feel good to just make all that up?
It must.
And no, reservations are not sales. Sales are sales, and they speak for themselves. Nobody is talking “reservations” anymore, except you.
Contrary Mary wants nothing but EVs!
I’ll take an AWD 2-door please!
I agree , had several original S-10 models myself
An 82 2WD short box V6 and 4 speed manual
1984, short box 4WD V6 and 4 speed manual
1986 long box 4WD V6 and 5 speed
These were all new , factory ordered for me
These were great, go anywhere , commuter vehicles , fun to drive and trouble free .
The 2.8 had just enough power with the manual shift and gave excellent fuel mileage
i would love to have 1 again , but not unibody , would like body on frame
GM is so committed to to electric in NA that there will not be a small pickup until they can come with a fully electric model
If i want an S-10 . need to find a used one , first generation and have it rebuilt.
Yes. Thank you. But, small-block 6 & BoF. Maverick isn’t close. Colorados are now dad-cabs with Taco envy.
Contrary Mary’s commitment to EVs will kill GM, the mass’s don’t want EVs. It will take another generation before EVs will be viable. When you see power companies start rebuilding the grid then you can guesstimate EVs are viable.
the Maverick is just an escape with a bed.
Not for me ,
I have an Equinox AWD 2.0l leather , sunroof and a Current gen Colarado crew V6 4WD , Z71
both are excellent vehicles
Just waiting to place my order for a 23 Colarado
I cannot believe that they don’t bring this truck to the US. GM is already behind…as usual
Renault Oroch, Hyundai Santa Cruz, Chevrolet Montana, VW Robust, Dodge Ram 700 / Fiat Strada…. There is market for a lot of these pick up trucks. Just take a look to video in google of the Hyundai Santa Cruz. It is very cool.
Yes it is not the same as any Mid Size or Full Size or HD / Dinosaurs trucks but there is a clientele for that market and so it is that all these brands redesigned its own for the 2022, 2023 & 2024 MY
So it all depends in what part of the world you live in
Just look at their sales and they have not sold all that many. I believe They have sold less the Ridgeline. Like 28k units.
Not many sold.
Love to buy equinox, trailblazer or redesigned trax but there underpowered motors will stop me , they have given up on ice cars to go all in with full electric, skipped the whole hybrid segment which is the best alltenative
As a retail dealership emoyee for a gm brand, this is vehicle platform (quarter ton truck) is making a huge resurgence as many customers do not want to pay the base price of the Colorado. Although you can get in true lifted, offroad package with an upgraded v6 engine (zr2), had they shrunk the design and used the same throwback chassis (here is a chance for gm to go back to the solid G style frame while still using a steel alloy or aerospace aluminum with the honeycomb support design that is being adapted) they could’ve made the manufacturing cost much lower, and sold for more units. With the adaptation of turbo/eco oost designs (like in RS models) even 2.0 inline 4 engines, in the truck with boost would be more than capable. They just need to automatically in all Montanas include AWD & 4 wheel drive. They can offer the upgrade v6 w the 6speed manual transmission & 4:10 or 3:72 a posi (from the camaro
ZL1 line that is being removed & retired, and keep a piece of it in the S10 extreme/cyclone & baja model. ) I’m one of those such customers and ther is a huge race & offroad cult to this truck and chassis. The base model could easily price out under $20,000 up to the current of the Colorado avg msrp a out 42.5k or so with different packages (LT, RS, ZR1, Extreme, baja, & cyclone-this would be my favorite if they dropped thier new v8 in it?)
Gm seriously reconsider this. The if we are going to adapt to change, we have to understand the retail consumer doesn’t need an $60k base model silverado (actually most can’t afford this, only businesses that need fleet can). Here you have a chance to steal the truck market from Ford.
Bring it back to the usa. And watch the pre-order list fill out to capacity in 24 hrs.
None of this is reality.
You are now getting a mid size truck with a 4 cylinder as the V6 is heading to being cut.
You would only get a 3 cylinder in this small segment and not anything else.
Dreams are nice but too many fail to distinguish between reality and dreams.
With The Camaro selling poorly along with most other performance models and with money tight at most Mfgs you will not see much out side the mid size and full size get some performance options. and even then it will be limited and expensive.
High gas prices and bad economies are killers for performance markets when they are strong but even worse when they are weak.
I used to make a lot of money on Camaro and Mustang sales but today it is Jeep and full frame trucks. Even in this economy we are watching and hoping they don’t drop off.
GM is smart not to run in on this segment. But if it does expand you can be sure the Montana could be brought here is a short period of time.
But right now the economics are just not there and the volume is not there for any of them. To be honest I am shocked Honda is still making the Ridgeline.
I saw this same post for the CTS Wagons too. And the Buick Regal and several other cars people said they would buy but when it hit the market nothing.
I don’t doubt that you honestly would do so but the public as a whole are not showing it. Ford has been miss leading on orders on a number of vehicles by claiming they are sold out but the truth is they limited sales.
The Santa Cruze is not selling great and the Ridgeline has never sold well. Even one web site asked why is the Ridgeline not selling?
Most truck owners are truck owners because they are not wanting FWD. You do know you can get a decent Colorado and Ranger for under $30K. Before the parts shortages the base Colorado was $19K in the San Diego area.
Toyota is looking to jump in as is Ram again. If the market is limited as it is showing then there will be many trucks for a small slice of the pie.
The only redeeming factor here is that these models are based on crappy small CUV models. Maverick is just a rebodied Escape and that is not saying much.
Besides Chevy brings this here and most of you will not buy and then complain about the 3 cylinder.
This is not an S10. I owned a S10 and Sonoma and these is no where near the same thing.
I have a mid size GM now and to be honest I am glad it is not a S10, They fixed most of the issues of the S10. Larger but it gets better MPG than either of my old models and this time I have 4×4, larger bed and larger cab. Price was below the average price of a car today. Nothing is cheap.
Be careful for what you wish for.
